Okay, so I’m testing out ja_kruger on a site that I’m developing, and I’m having problems. I’m using a mambot called Smoothgallery, and it uses mootools.js.

Researching the problem, I’ve found that others have experienced the same problem.

I am set on using kruger, and also Smoothgallery. I have tried other JA templates, wistery for example and didn’t have the problem. The author of the mambot insists that javascripts should not be embedded in the templates, however I think that the functionality is great. What should I do?!

The javascript in the Smoothgallery does not get along with the javascript in the template. Instead of displaying images inside the Smoothgallery, they are displayed in a vertical row (firefox) and not at all in IE (long black box shows).
When I change to another template I don’t have the problem.
When I inserted the ja.scripts.js file from the wistery template, the Smoothgallery functioned partially, but the mouse-over images (with transparency) did not display properly.

You could try to edit the template index.php file to remove Nifty javascript code. Search and remove following code (arround from line 189 to line 219):

Okay, I’ve tried that, however it didn’t work. I’ve tried also removing the PNG transparency script. No new results. So I’ve returned to the original index.php.

Currently I’m using the ja.scripts.js from wistery, and there is partial functionality. Removing the javascripts from the index.php while using this js file didn’t do anything (other than break the site tools).

I’ve also tried using different menu types in conjunction with these troubleshooting steps. Nothing.

I’ll await further suggestions. Thanks.
