September 26, 2010 at 12:12 pm #154643I keep getting the “JFolder::create: Could not create directory” error showing up on my front page (see attached snapshot).
I don’t usually have any kind of permissions errors on this server. I have a little over 20 Joomla! installations running on it, and they all work fine.
OK, so I gave the cache directory full write privileges, but I saw in another post something about giving full write privileges to a folder called “t3-assets.” I haven’t been able to locate this folder. Can someone tell me where it is?
Thank you.
edited to add: Never mind, I fixed it. Sorry for posting unnecessarily.

December 27, 2010 at 8:43 pm #368821Hello. I had the same issue and just made the permissions to the folders “read and writable” I am running this on MAMP on a MAC and it worked. Had a few issues, but the last folder I gave the permissions to was the “cache” and the error was gone.

December 27, 2010 at 8:52 pm #368823This is a very common problem and as rvernet says, it is simply a permissions change that is required on certain folders. Occasionally, if your server is setup with that silly safe mode, you may need to setup the ftp layer that Joomla provides.

March 10, 2011 at 12:16 pm #380722The t3-assets folder is created by the script for cacheing compressed files. If you do not have it then either your server cannot create it (permissions) or you have caching and compression disabled in the template manager.
