April 26, 2013 at 9:13 am #187092Hi all,
I’m getting the below…
JFTP: :write: Bad response
The error above appears on the home screen and when you try to post up pictures they just disappear.
I have tried the below, that I found in other forums, but to no avail!
– First: Change the chmod to 777 (755 the default chmod) of your “configuration.php” file.
– Second: Update your configuartion server on the BE.
– Third: Change the chmod again to 755 of your “configuration.php” file of course.Any help much appreciated…desperation here!
–Matt

May 13, 2013 at 8:25 am #492584Hi HeR0,
Everything’s writable – I’ve found the source of the problem now… There’s a limit to the amount of files I can have on my 1and1 server. Joomla seems to be creating hundreds and thousands of tmp files with names like ‘tmp5LVyuS’ – all 157 bytes – which is pushing me to the file limit on the server, and therefore preventing me from adding any more files. These seem to be created by the Joomla Extension ‘AntiCopy’. Is there a way to delete all temp files every so often? I can’t see how this extension is adding all these temp files?!
Any help, much appreciated.
Cheers,

May 22, 2013 at 8:58 am #493611Yeah, the default Joomla tmp folder – I’ve uninstalled the plugin, but even still it continues to churn out thousands of these tmp files from somewhere… I can’t for the life of me find where from?!
Any ideas?
Thanks,

May 23, 2013 at 1:59 am #493675Hi Matt,
Please PM me super admin account and ftp info, then i’ll check and try to help you out. To be frank, your issue is strange since I can’t reproduce the same error with Joomla default.
Regards

May 25, 2013 at 3:42 am #493902Hi Matt,
I checked your site but could not find what is the causing that problem. Please try to disable one by one extension on your site for troubleshooting ( you should create a clone site on your local for checking it quickly ) and also contact to your hosting provider to get support.
Regards

May 28, 2013 at 1:51 pm #494198Hi,
The error message was definitely coming from the AntiCopy extension, as that was the message that was being created on right click on the site. However, I’ve disabled this and uninstalled it and it continues to appear! Is there any way that it’s tried to generate itself hundreds of thousands of times and there’s a backlog of files being created?
Cheers,

May 28, 2013 at 3:13 pm #494205Found the source now and managed to stop it – it was a K2 Tools module parsing PHP to create the year date in the copyright footer – can you see why this would have been creating tmp files?

Congrats to you @matt. To be frank, i don’t know why it was creating tmp files too. But good that your issue is resolved and you could detect what was causing that issue 🙂 . Also, K2 Tools is not our product so we wont be able to support much for it.Regards
