    I have about 6 different xml sources to import jobs from (2 were prepackaged with the product). I have mapped the 4 that i provided samples for and none of them are importing. One does not produce an error, it just says that no jobs have been imported.

    Once I get them imported, how can I do this with a cron job on a regular basis? Is there any was to differentiate duplicates?

    Also, how can I display jobs using the indeed api? This is almost a standard for job boards now days.

    Thank you

    MC

    EDIT:

    I see how I can do this with Indeed however, the indeed jobs will mix with the rest of the jobs in the job board. Indeed requires that their logo be placed at the top of the job list. is it possible to segregate the jobs from indeed with the rest of the jobs?

    Hi mcarbone,

    1. Import error.
    =>
    Please give us your site URL, Admin, FTP account for closer check by editing your post (Advanced Edit Mode) to fill required information.

    2. How can I do this with a cron job on a regular basis? Is there any was to differentiate duplicates?
    =>
    You must do import job manually by hand => click to import job link.

    3. How can I display jobs using the indeed api?
    =>
    JAJobBoard doesn’t support to show jobs via other API. It only show jobs created in the system by employers or by import job function.

    Dear Michelle Carbone,

    There are some problems when getting data form other sites in your server so we need more time to check.
    You can use “Local file” pick up method to import jobs for your site at this time.
    Eg: /administrator/index.php?option=com_jajobboard&view=jaxmlimport&tab=feeds&task=edit&cid[]=21

    I just replied to another post: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/jobs-data-import/ with regards to this.

    The reason you provided <blockquote>problems when getting data form other sites in your server</blockquote> does not make sense!!!!! >:(
    I am importing other feeds (another component) just fine from external sites.

    I can only assume since I have not heard back that this was not looked into further. I have opened another ticket since my other one was closed.

    Part of the import issue that I’ve suggested in the new support ticket (#LPE-400-72588) is

    For Step 3 (map fields) when I attempt to map some required fields (specifically category and location) to the component and press “Save”, an error message appears that “category” or “location must have a value!”.

    This happens when….

    The XML field (node) is [location|state] and I choose:
    “If the imported value does not exist as a category on your database, then: – Attempt to match the category name with text from: location |state”

    The same thing happens with category
    The XML field (node) is [job-category] and I choose: – Attempt to match the category name with text from: job-category

    In the XML file, the nodes are:
    <location><state>some_value</state></location>

    AND

    <job-category>some_value</job-category>

    Hi,

    did you ever resolve this? If you did, is it possible to share how you did it. I did have one of the ja job board support staff trying to fix my site, but once he started telling me my host providers were up to no good and that he was setting up a hosting company and started to try and sell it to me, and then discovering he could view all my server files using a tool he installed i panicked and shut him out of my site – hence never getting it to work. Maybe I over-reacted here, but I have been bitten once to often from being too trusting. Has anyone got this feature to work? All I want is to be able to import job feeds from indeed.com
