June 25, 2013 at 1:08 pm #188485Hi,
my apologies for re-submitting this request for help but I am getting a bit desperate now in trying to resolve it as until i get this working I can’t put my site live and its long overdue.
This is my earlier thread: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/jomsocial-registrations-not-being-added-and-jobs-not-showing/
I am submitting this new one so I can add my site access details in the require help from staff bit (previously I was PM these details to Hero).
I just cannot get the jobsboard to work on my site. It is not displaying Job Seekers, Employers or Job Postings at all in the front or backend of my Joomla site. I can see them registered in the database but the site is not being updated. When i post a job, it displays conflicting messages, one says Job posting was submitted successfully, the other says there are no jobs??
In the tabs view, no jobs are displayed, yet there are some Employers under the latest employer tabs – however they don’t show the actual details.
I can imagine support are snowed under with requests (and I apologize for adding to them) but I really am getting desperate now and have gone through so many old threads to try and figure it out myself, but no joy to date.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated

June 26, 2013 at 10:25 am #497018Hi,
I have checked the registration function and there is no problem with this feature on your site.
I don’t know why you could not do this. I am not sure that the data of Jobboard user is avail in database but it does not appear on front end or backend.
Could you pm me cpanel info of your site? I need closer check at the database first to help you out of these.
Regarding Post Job function, please look at the published date option and time zone on the site, i think it is different with your time and the new jobs will appear after a couple of hours.
Regards

June 26, 2013 at 12:24 pm #497026Hi Hero,
I have deleted the job board and currently re-installing everything – this is my second attempt today. I also had to delete all the database files to get it to work. I tried to import my categories (created the list in excel and saved as xml 2003) then clicked import and it said categories successfully imported but then the same issue as before where it was showing in database bot not backend.
To you think my problem might be something to do with the time settings? I can reinstall a backup copy of my site if that’s the case and try and repair that? I shall do that now then send you access to the cpanel

June 26, 2013 at 1:43 pm #497032Hi Hero,
I sent my cpanel access via PM. I reinstalled the earlier version of my site so its back to how it was – you will be able to see the netries in the database now – but not front end

June 26, 2013 at 10:09 pm #497066Hi Hero,
I decided to reinstall the job board from scratch in the end and it seems to have done the trick (it needed the database files deleted too). I just have a few remaining issues, one of which I had first time round was that the tabs are not displaying properly yet. They are lined up one under the other rather than in the tabs. I just can’t see what is missing as have compared it to the demo jobsboard.
Secondly, I changed the field name for zipcode to post code (for UK) and now it wont store it when posting a new job – it just displays a zero.
Thirdly, I created 2 new multi select fields that need to be both displayed on the filter and selectable when adding a new job posting. Both display in the filter fine, and they alsio show as an option in post a new job, but in the latter, they seem to have a default of all selected and if I try to change this i.e. by selecting one or two, it causes an error and it doesn’t save any of them. If I leave it as it is, it will happily add them all, and puts all the selections in to the job posting. I thought maybe i needed to create a copy of the multi select and put it in the resume table, as looked at the category field and this was set up like this, but that didn’t help either.
I am really sorry to have caused you such a headache with this, but I think we are very close to resolving it now 🙂

<blockquote>I just have a few remaining issues, one of which I had first time round was that the tabs are not displaying properly yet. They are lined up one under the other rather than in the tabs. I just can’t see what is missing as have compared it to the demo jobsboard. </blockquote>
Please look at this documation http://wiki.joomlart.com/wiki/JA_Job_Board_2.5/Installation_Guides. It will help you understand more how to set up the modules for JA Jobboard.
<blockquote>Secondly, I changed the field name for zipcode to post code (for UK) and now it wont store it when posting a new job – it just displays a zero.</blockquote>
I edited Job Test then changed the Post Code value for testing purpose and all works. Nothing problem with this fiel d. Pls check again.

Please look at this ccreenshot http://prntscr.com/1c5haj and you could see that the options of field “Who they work with” does not have any value so you should add value (0, 1, 2, 3, 4,…) for it to get your issue fixed.
Pls try again and let me know if helps.

June 27, 2013 at 7:47 am #497115Hi hero,
thanks for responding. I am almost there now I think. I had to change the Postcode field type to text (as UK uses alpha numeric) and that works now.
I have added the values to the multi-select boxes (I completely overlooked the values column). Now I can select a value from the list. Just one small issue though here is that I can only select one value (even though field type is multi-select) and even if I use ctrl key and select more values, they don’t display when saved – just the last selection from the list is saved.
Also, I have gone through the module setup in the link you provided, which is great and much clearer to me now. However I can’t figure out how to get the tabs to display properly (its not in the link).
Lastly, I need to change the date format to dd/mm/yyyy – I have looked at the configeration for the field but can’t see where to do this – I don’t want to mess with it in case I corrupt the database again. Where is this set?
Kind regards

I justedited the Job Test in backend area then selected 4 options on the “Who they work with” field and could see that the job was edited successfully. Where did you edit Job?

Because your site is running on other template ( not JA Purity ), so the module position is different. Which page do you want to display tabs of JA Jobboard ? Pls let me know then i can help you set it up.

Please look at the snapshot http://prntscr.com/1c6q8b for more details.Regards

June 27, 2013 at 9:06 am #497135Hi Hero,
I edited the test job posting via the front end as an employer. It was there it wouldn’t let me select more than one option.
I am trying to load my tabs on the Latest Opportunities page under Volunteering – the article where its being loaded from is Volunteering opportunities (I have uploaded my old site to see what settings I need, and I noticed in the old site the ja_tabs has the following extra fields that mine doesn’t have:
List module:
ArticleID list:
Category ID:
K2 Item ID list:
K2 Category ID:I have gone through the setting up of tabs in http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-tabs-plugin-for-joomla-2-5-userguide/ but I still haven’t got it working
I stumbled across the date change after searching the forums 🙂 which said what you did so thanks, I have now changed it.

June 27, 2013 at 10:10 am #497147Dear,
Please check the page http://www.kcvs.org.uk/volunteer-centre/volunteering-opportunities again. The tabs arenot appeared because the JA Tabs plugin is disabled. Enable it to get the issue fixed.

June 27, 2013 at 12:25 pm #497165Hi Hero,
I think you fixed the tabs issue for me earlier as I saw it working (massive thanks) but I had to delete the menu link to it and recreate it as it wasn’t loading the page properly (was loading the index page for first 3 clicks every time). So I deleted it, created a new menu link and pointed it back to the associated article, now the tabs have stopped displaying again. Can you tell me how you fixed it first time around so I can reset it?
Kind regards

June 28, 2013 at 4:50 am #497254Dear Melanieb,
Please look at this document http://docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_assign_a_module_to_specific_pages%3F for your info.
You need to check module positions on specific pages with add ?tp=1 ( in SEF ) to the end of page link, otherwise, you can use &tp=1
Regards
