November 17, 2010 at 9:44 pm #363221Interesting. It appears to be quite an update with a lot of new features. I have no idea as to whether the template will be upgraded for this or whether the current one will work but I will ask the question. Having said that it does still appear to be in Beta. Can you post a link to the full release announcement.

November 18, 2010 at 1:08 pm #363272of course there are template changes,
but I already sent you a link with changes for template developers.
Also jomsocial team told that they informed you and some other clubs about new structure.so give us an updated template with known bugs fixed.
I’m here since 2 months and you still haven’t resolved the bugs – that’s disapointing.if you don’t want to support me just say it and give me back my money. Or start working…
sorry for these words but I’m really frustrated with the way things go here..

November 18, 2010 at 1:17 pm #363273Did you make a thread needing support assistance? If so, they’re usually pretty fast.

November 18, 2010 at 1:41 pm #363275@ spmedia
I opened forum threads and also support tickets and to be honest I don’t want to waste my time here
I only joined the club because of the 2 jomsocial templates but:
this (ja social) has bugs which haven’t been fixed since TWO MONTHS. then I asked what about the update to 2.0 – answer: they will look at it AFTER stable release… even if they know the new template structure 2 weeks before – I don’t understand this way of working and it makes me angry.
second template (ja sulfur) is jomsocial version 1.5 – hey – this is nearly ONE YEAR… what the hell’s going on here?!
I know they have lot of customers and lot of templates and so on… but that’s now what I expect from a serious club.
I payed 2 months ago and got…. nothing…!So the people who ask me about a new template club surely won’t hear that I can advise them joomlart.
money thrown away…gummel Friendgummel

November 18, 2010 at 3:35 pm #363290Hi,
I’m little bit surprised that there is no release Management in place. Every profesional developer knows for month that there will be a update to jomsocial 2.0.
Joomlart could you give us a feedback when you will plan to update the template ?
Thank you in advanced
(for a profesional Release Management please see ITIL)

November 18, 2010 at 3:43 pm #363292of course they knew it but they answered that they’ll start updating the templates AFTER the stable release – what a shame…
I also provided them an official link from jomsocial where all template changes have been written down – this was exactly develoed for template designers – but they don’t care about their customers but are only interested in the money.

November 18, 2010 at 3:48 pm #363293Actually it was stated by Tienhc that the team are working on the Jomsocial 2.0 release a number of days back in one of your other threads. Jomsocial 2.0 was only released today. You have been demanding a version for it for some time and at that time Arvind stated that it would not be released until the Stable Jomsocial release was available. You now have many posts in many threads where you have been told the same.
Will your version for 1.8.x suddenly stop working just because a new version is out? Nope, thought not. So please be patient. I am sure the team are working towards a good release.

November 18, 2010 at 3:54 pm #363294phil, it’s not the point that I could use the 1.8 some day longer – of course I could but I don’t want.
that’s the first point. but also there are bugs in the actual 1.8 jomsocial template and also these bugs haven’t been fixed within the last 2 months – do you want to say that this is the right way of working?and for ja sulfur: this hasn’t been updated since a year so it doesn’t work with 1.8 …
I’m here because of these 2 templates and both don’t work for me
November 18, 2010 at 4:14 pm #363295I also waiting for the Ja Social template for the JomSocial 2.0 version. When I tested JomSocial 2.0 with the current template, lots of pages were broken.

You have been demanding for some time that a JS2.0 template be released since long before the final version was available. As a developer myself I know that even at the last minute things do change. From bitter experience I have also found that is best not to work 100% on a product until the final release is available even if full developer notes are available. Trust me when I say they are very often out of dat by the time they are written. Whether or not a JS2.0 compatible version will be released soon I do not know but never has there been a promise that all templates will continually be updated to work with new extensions. If JA release one then great, if not then show me where JA have promised to make all templates future proof and work with yet to be released software.

On that point I agree with you. There are some bugs in the template that need ironing out. I have asked about this but we need to be patient. A huge amount of work is going on at JA at the moment upgrading many templates etc so IMO they can be excused to some extent.

I’ve just installed this on my local machine and it seems to be working OK. I’ve yet to fully test though as I don’t use JS myself.

November 18, 2010 at 4:17 pm #363297Enough said, I have dropped Mr Hung a message including a link to this thread so lets await the official response from him rather than wasting time on a discussion that can go nowhere until then.

November 18, 2010 at 4:40 pm #363299ok phil.
I’m not here because I want to discuss – I just want working things for my site and then everything is fine.
I hope you understand that I’m disappointed because that’s not what I expected for my money.
And now let’s end it and hope for a fast release of jomsocial 2.0 template.jamjodesign Friendjamjodesign
