May 1, 2011 at 10:20 am #389260Ed,
I cannot give you a date as I simply do not know. In the mean time why not restore to an earlier version of jomsocial that you know works instead of using a version that you know doesn’t?
The update to Joomla 1.5.23 should not have an effect on the template.

May 1, 2011 at 11:02 am #389269Joomlart brought this JomSocial related template and the customer might expect updates as JomSocial evolves.
Sure, people are inpatient when a developer is promising “soon”.Sorry…..! :((

Yes Phill, I will restore an older version now.
Was just waiting for an updated template because this was promised.
Thanks for this update.TomC ModeratorTomC

So Phil . . . What you’re saying is that one can use the current version of JA Social and the currently compatible version of JomSocial – and then when the JS 2.2 updated version of JA Social is released, it will be more of a patch than something that one would have to re-do (in terms of the template CSS styling) all over again?
did that make sense?
In other words . . . If I were to install the current JA Social template and start working on ONLY the styling elements (CSS) and some menu/content items – not even dealing with the JomSocial part just yet – then, when the JA Team releases the JS 2.2 compatible template, I will be able to simply overwrite (or patch) those particular files and it will not affect the styling or regular content (K2 included) that I have done?

May 1, 2011 at 4:00 pm #389304I would like to hope so but I cannot say 100% sure as I am not the developer not am I able to speak directly to them. I’m in the UK providing support where I can and the devs are in Vietnam. They are a helpfull bunch so I am sure they will be on here soon to answer your questions.

May 1, 2011 at 7:27 pm #389337Thinking logically … I would suspect that the CSS styling is separate and apart from the re-coding for compatibility with JomSocial 2.2 – so if one were to modify the CSS for one’s needs, the upgrade modifications of JA Social for JomScoial 2.2 should be a matter of overwriting the respective files within the structure.
In the alternative, if one were to have done some CSS modification and the above upgrade method wouldn’t work, then would not one simply be able to overwrite the respective CSS styles for the upgraded JA Social template? I can’t imagine that the Dev Team are concentrating so much on the CSS styling as they are the JomSocial 2.2 and Kunena Forum issues – right?
I would like to hear from JA Developer or one of the other Dev Team members as to this issue, though.

May 1, 2011 at 7:52 pm #389341Kunena 1.6 uses a completly differen theme engine to the =<1.5 versions so that would be a big job creating a theme for that and a learning curve that is quite steep. I know little of Jomsocial but looking at the problems it appears to mainly be css changes required to make this template play well.

awww crud … I thought I might be able to get started on this now and just overwrite CSS files later when the upgraded JA Social template was finally released. Well, hopefully JA Developer and/or one of the other Dev Team members will check into this thread sometime soon with a progress/status report update.

May 2, 2011 at 1:19 am #389355I hope that if as stated Kunena is high on the priority list then, the JA developers have been in contact with the Kunena developers? Nobody has mentioned K2.0 and the last post is talking about K 1.6 but considering that K 1.6.4 was never officially released and we are now into May, and that the K developers talk about K2.0 seems to me that “forward looking” means kunena 2.0. Sorry to throw that into the mix but take a look here and in the Kunena documentation it’s pretty clear that 2.0 is the major focus:

May 2, 2011 at 8:07 am #389381Still waiting for a compatible version of this template to be used with Jomsocial 2.2.x . I checked in other Clubs and templates compatible was released, but i think support for this template is officially DEAD! :((:((
I’ll wait until june, if no updates here i’m forced to choose other Template Club with serious support for their products.
Thanks.

Apparently, you’ve neither read through THIS thread or the others that deal with the upgrade. If you had, you would both know and understand that support for this template IS NOT dead and is well underway.Hate to break this to you, but as much as you might like to believe so, the world does not revolve around YOUR time tables. Please try to exhibit some patience and consideration for the task at hand.

So… any news about this would be great… thanks.
