See, that’s exactly what I am wondering too . . . because I don’t want to get started working with the graphic/css elements only to find out that the template has been changed when the upgraded version is finally released. I am starting to inch toward the crowd that is requesting an updated update as to the estimated time-frame/release date for the JomSocial 2.2 upgraded JomSocial template.charles99 Friendcharles99

May 9, 2011 at 2:31 am #390325I can’t believe that they are still asking people to wait for an update! Its been almost 3 months and if you didn’t get the message by now wake up!!! Joomla 1.7 will be coming out soon so the problems you are having now, you are going to run into again! So use the templates that come with JomSocial…
Or take the time to modify Ja Social on your own… Believe it or not once you make the changes it will be easier the next time an upgrade is release. But if you waiting on Joomlart you will always find yourself waiting! Especially if their template has a third party plugin or component in it: K2 or Jomsocial.
Week, turn into 3 weeks. Next month turned into two months and before May has turn into nobody knows. And Jomsocial 2.2.2 is coming out on May 16, so there is another reason for them to ask you to wait again!
Joomla 1.7 and Joomla 1.8 are the real major updates. A lot of people are really waiting for Joomla 1.7! This is what you should be planning for. And stop asking when, because these guys don’t have a clue…

May 9, 2011 at 7:53 pm #390451thanks for the update. FYI JomSocial 2.2.2 Beta 3 released today to beta testers. Looks like JomSocial 2.2.2 is right on track for the promised May 16 release. If you want me to help out beta testing JA Social (J! 1.6) with JomSocial 2.2.2 beta 3 I have a private test server setup. Just let me know.

May 10, 2011 at 5:13 am #390488sheesh what? Nobody said anything about having it the SECOND or any other nonsense. Stop acting the shill.
My post was simply informational. Nothing more intended. But for that matter, who are you to say whether something is important for someone or not?
I’m waiting patiently but shills make it far less tolerable.

Why are you telling us that JA Sulfur will be out very very soon? We are in the JA Social forum and are more interested in getting some sort of release date for this template.
There are a lot of businesses using this template, and giving clients some sort of timeframe for them to expect the updates is imperative to their business operations. JA Developers have gone from saying a couple of weeks, to a few weeks, to next month to very very soon. From a client point of view these sketchy timeframes are unacceptable.
No one is pressuring you guys to ‘hurry up’ or ‘get on with it’ – we respect that you are updating a large amount of templates. But surely you guys set yourself deadlines to get templates released by – if you could just let us know your planned release date for the updated JA Social template, then I think a lot of people will be more satisfied and will get off your backs.

Then stop being one for JomSocial 2.2.2 Beta 3. YOU were the one who announced “FYI JomSocial 2.2.2 Beta 3 released today to beta testers. Looks like JomSocial 2.2.2 is right on track for the promised May 16 release. If you want me to help out beta testing JA Social (J! 1.6) with JomSocial 2.2.2 beta 3 . . .”Anyone who sees this can decipher the underlying message . . . “that’s great that you’re updating JA Social for JomSocial 2.2, but what about 2.2.2 Beta 3 …”
You say you’re patient, yet you’re already pushing for an upgrade for a JomSocial release that hasn’t even been released yet.
I am no shill for anyone. I simply recognize, understand and respect that these templates are VERY involved and take time to upgrade. If it were as simple a matter as I think some seem to (naively) think it is, then everyone could/would do it.
May 10, 2011 at 7:04 pm #390637Hi,
I have a question, how you want to do jasocial for 1.6, when there is no Agora for 1.6 ?
Anyway, kunena is for 1.6 🙂

I thought I read something within one of these threads that that was the tentative plan . . . though seeing as JoomlArt’s community forum is powered by vBulletin, I have been asking myself why the JA Team wouldn’t consider integrating vBulletin into JA Social as the Community Message Board. (Unless there’s something I am missing or unaware of with regard to vBulletin’s functionality and/or intergation w/ a Joomla site.)housefly Friendhousefly

IMO vbulletin sucks..
I dont find it intuitive at all – maybe it’s just me – but I can’t navigate it properly. For instance – I can’t seem to find the useful menu item for “my topics” anywhere!? Maybe it’s just the way it is setup in here.. But I prefer Kunena by far.
It is following the straight path of it’s predecessors (mamboboard/joomlaboard/fireboard) – being clean cut – and easy to navigate.
Just my opinion.. 😀
anyhowdy! – How’s our updated JA Social coming along??
I’m fearing an angry mob of clients throwing torches.. 😉

Perhaps you’re right. Kunena just seems bland to me … but I suppose any BB can be spruced up (depending on the skill of the user/designer). -
