How does one activate the Jomsocial login box on the homepage (like the demo)?

I’ve been using the template documentation, but it hasn’t been very helpful for the following reasons:

1) The images and links on the documentation are broken in the JomSocial section. Functioning images would likely be very helpful.

2) While the JS Active Groups, JS Active Groups, JS Top Members and JS Hello Me modules are clearly Jomsocial (as they are named exactly the same, lacked a established position and were all unpublished), the other mentioned modules, however, has confusing differences, including:

A) JS Event: is active and has defined position. Is this supposed to be changed?

B) JS Photo Module: There is no such module, only “JS Photo Comments” (which already has a position and is published). Is that the same thing? If so, why not include “Comments” in the name mentioned in the instructions?

C) JS Videos Module: Same issue as B
