Hello,
Jomsocial team has released a new major version of jomsocial (2.4.0).
However, when using the JA social – jomsocial theme (version 1.0.3 – joomla 1.5) for jomsocial 2.4.0, the layout displaying is not very optimal :
as an example : activity feed of jomsocial users is not well displayed (borders are missing, the symbol to delete an activity is not displayed anymore)Moreover, the new features of jomsocial (e.g. regarding privacy setting) are not displayed.
If I switch back to the default theme of jomsocial : everything is displayed correctly.
Could you please update the JA social- jomsocial theme?
THanks in advance

November 21, 2011 at 10:55 am #425672In my case, I opted to just use the template that came with Jomsocial 2.4. I am on Joomla 1.7.3 and also using Kunena 1.7. I am not installing extensions from the Jomsocial package though due to template/CSS issues.
I would also like Joomlart to update its custom template packaged with JA Social WHEN Jomsocial 2.4 has fixed its own mess. I say this because Jomsocial 2.4RC1 was working fine in my live site. But as soon as I installed the stable 2.4, problem began, CSS-wise. In fairness to the Jomsocial devs & support people, they do reply and act on my support tickets.
December 7, 2011 at 12:31 pm #428424It is not displaying correctly even using jomsocial template. If this is being sold as a template for use with jomsocial it should always be usable with the latest version of jomsocial.
There are only minor issues and they should be easy to fix.
December 8, 2011 at 8:10 pm #428793I also upgraded to Jomsocial 2.4.1 from 2.2.4 today.
But old Ja Social Theme v1.0.3 just don’t display correctly on it.
I just don’t get it, Why every time Jomsocial release major upgrades almost every theme stop working correctly?
And, Why Ja Social Theme take a long time release a new update that compatible with new Jomsocial upgrade?

Could it be because it takes time to update template structures to conform to the new code/styling updates within the JomSocial updates? A better question might be . . . why must you all upgrade to the latest JomSocial version in the blink of an eye? Was your previous installed version broken or not functioning as it should?jooservices Friendjooservices

Why people on this board always make it sound like its always the customer’s fault.
I don’t think customers are here to pay and listen to JA guys to tell them how to ask a question.Jomsocial is undeniably one of the biggest component out there in the Joomla world. With the speed they roll out updates (2.6 is already on the way), customer really have to rely on one template provider that can respond fast enough. Product cycle can’t be 3 – 6 months, gotta be 3 – 6 weeks.
I hate to say this, but three other big name template providers already rolled out Jomsocial 2.4 compatible themes.

Where did I even insinuate that anything in this thread is even remotely “the customer’s fault?”All I did was ask a question . . . just like you did. Is one any less valid than the other?

December 9, 2011 at 1:53 pm #428955TomC,
I have gone back to an earlier version of Jomsocial. All I want to achieve is the ‘get connected’ box to look exactly the same as in the example site. I have tried everything and I just cannot get it to work.
Can you help ?
Thank You.

December 18, 2011 at 1:39 am #430133Hello,
TomC, I asked this same question over a month ago. You responded and told me that it would be about a month. For some reason, that post was placed into the SOLVED folder, and even after several people inquired why it was there, no one answered.
You stated in response to my post, that JomSocial rolls out upgrades very quickly, and it is hard to keep up. I understand that. But, at the same time, people here make a very valid point. You are in the template business. Ja_Social is designed specifically for JomSocial. If they upgrade, you really need to dedicate the time to look into an upgrade of your own.
It is a little silly to say to us: <blockquote>“A better question might be . . . why must you all upgrade to the latest JomSocial version in the blink of an eye? Was your previous installed version broken or not functioning as it should?”</blockquote>
We upgrade because of long lists of bugs. We upgrade because they make improvements. We upgrade because they tell us to. We upgrade because they will not offer support if we do not have the latest version.
We all are paying customers. We pay because you offer a great product. We continue on as loyal customers because of your service, and your updates. But, you can not leave us hanging like this. Please please please help us out and get us an update. And then, please be ready to work furiously for us when the next version of JomSocial comes out. I would expect that you, and your excellent team, could put out an update in a week. I have faith. I think we all pay enough to have a couple people fully dedicated to making this happen when the time comes.
Thank you again for everything, and I look forward to having my updated template soon 🙂

December 20, 2011 at 6:25 am #430473I’m also waiting anxiously to receive this update.
Jomsocial 2.4.1 has been out for a while now and JA Social really should be updated inline with the changes.
Hopefully we will get some good news soon.
