The most important problem is that the facebook connect is not working on 2.2.4. you can check all 2.2.4 jomsocial sites that the facebook connect is broken….
So i really need to update to 2.4 because the facebook connect is broken for some reason in 2.2.4.
Please keep us up to date about the progress of the ja social template update.

Please post your own thread about facebook issue on JomSocial 2.2.4 . I’ll help you make patch on JomSocial to fix this.

Just wondering if you were ever helped with some of your issues. I was told I would be helped also (over a week ago)…and I’m still waiting to get that PROMISED help. Maybe you can tell me of other template providers that support their templates with jomsocial and I’ll try them instead.

I am too disappointed for what I consider slow JA updates for templates and extensions. I have two other club memberships and have also complaints for different reasons. RT for example, is not developing (at least for past 6 – 7 months) for 3rd extensions like K2 and Jomsocial. RT support forum is the best without doubt. Joomlaxtc IMO support is the worst.
I found that many developers are adding support for other platforms like Drupal and WordPress and that IMO, is diluting development for Joomla.

I PM’d him. I told him no I didn’t need his help, then yes I would take it, then didn’t hear anything…so, I can’t really blame him. I was a little wishy-washy. But, I should pm him back.
Anyway, the short answer is no, I didn’t get any help.
Very frustrated by Joomlart, and the lack of updates on this template. It is becoming embarrassing for them. :(( (At least they SHOULD be embarrassed.) But, I don’t think you’ll find a better template provider…from what I understand, Joomlart is still far ahead of the others when it comes to JomSocial.
Come on JomSocial – let’s go already! Grrr >:(

January 12, 2012 at 12:42 am #433477Well, I PM’d him a couple times but he hasn’t helped yet, even though he agreed. I’m beginning to think it was just talk with a brush off. I’m not getting anywhere with JomSocial or Joomlart’s template and all the trouble tickets entered with each tech support. The only thing really left to do is pay an independent or someone who knows the situation. JomSocial is always going to be ahead with their updates and I can’t wait around for JA Social to play catch up. It’s too bad because Joomlart’s could be pulling in the #1 slot as far as templates go and it could be a great marketing strategy for them but they must be blind to that fact. Very sad indeed!!!!!!

Hi if you are talking about JomSocial 2.2.x with FBC issue, than it’s solved with my patch ? Or whatelse ? ( or you are which one emailed me ? )Thank you

January 12, 2012 at 1:24 pm #433557Could we have a public announcement about JomSocial 2.4 with JA Social please – we’ve been waiting since mid November when we were informed it would be ready in a month – we’re obviously past that now but still no word on the release date of the update which is causing big issues with our project.

I do have a hunch about what is going on, but I am not willing to share that opinion currently. I would appreciate knowing who initiates the decision to update JomSocial in Ja_Social. Is it directly from the development team, or are their hands tied? I would like to hear remarks genuinely from the horses mouth regarding the “update that appears to be silenced.”

</blockquote>Are you speaking on behalf of Joomlart here? When we enquired back in November we were told a month – but now you are saying its not scheduled?
We chose to use this template specifically because of its JomSocial template – no other reason, and as its named and targetted at this audience it seems very strange that updates to it to coincide with JomSocial updates are not forthcoming.
Its quite disappointing and frustrating that we have had to continually delay launching the website whilst waiting for this update that has apparantly not even been started yet!
If there is no intention to update it please can JA post an official notification on the website.
