February 8, 2012 at 3:15 pm #437572and there in lies the problem for us ALL! We are all on production schedules and given that these changes have been known for quite some time now it is not unreasonable to expect that Joomlart would have been prepared for this in advance in order to keep your developer customers apply supplied with the products we purchased our licenses to use in a timely fashion. This waiting is putting all of us behind!>:(

February 10, 2012 at 2:50 am #437769Well they did mention a 3 month production cycle, I was trying to see if that cycle started AFTER J!2.5 was released but did not receive an answer.
Just wait until your subscription expires than there will be an update!:D LOL <–That’s always my luck

February 11, 2012 at 3:07 am #437896I do almost have a completely compatible JomSocial 2.4 template
Frontpage Snapshot:
Frontpage2 Snapshot:
Profile Snapshot:
As you can see from the Frontpage Snapshots the images and videos are display correctly and not blowing up the thumbnails. The Recent Activity Header is fixed, the frontpage guest look is almost complete, the recent activity and profile boxes are correct. Padding, margins, shadows everything is starting to come together. Mostly CSS fixes but a few php fixes for photo/video avatars and the guest.frontpage to display the “new layout” with cool web 2.0 images…
As far as Kunena goes I am just staying with 1.6.5 until someone else jumps off the cliff first and tells me if the latest is compatible.

February 11, 2012 at 1:59 pm #437914Interesting info on jomsocial’s blog about jomsocial 2.6: They seem to take care of the template issue now:
<blockquote>On a side note, do you use any template override with JomSocial? We are furiously updating popular templates from Rockettheme, Joomlart, Gavick and Yootheme for JomSocial 2.6 compatibility. If you have any of the above template, and notice compatibility issues (styling/broken features/javascript errors/out-of-place items), please let us know at the Development site.</blockquote>

February 11, 2012 at 7:41 pm #437947That must be a 180 degree about face because last time I talked to their support (2 days ago) they said they were NOT supporting 3rd party templates and would not help.

February 12, 2012 at 4:25 am #438026WHAT?! Well that made my job easier……now I can stop messing around with these bull@#$# CSS errors….Huge changes from 2.2 and 2.4 with several new elements for all the different headers…fix one and it throws the next. I wonder if Joomlart has jumped in on the developers side of JomSocial to take advantage of the free help on their own template…

February 12, 2012 at 4:37 am #438027There were not any open threads for any third party templates in their developer forums. I left a message for fuqaha, we’ll see what he has to say……hopefully good news….
February 13, 2012 at 9:55 pm #438246so whats the status? someone has managed to make the template work with 2.4? could that help the developers complete the upgrade so that its fully compatible with jomsocial 2.4?

February 14, 2012 at 1:37 am #438253At this point I believe they are preparing to release for JS 2.6 in conjunction with Joomla 2.5 so we all can get caught up on our production schedules that we are behind on where these releases are concerned.
February 14, 2012 at 10:01 am #438280Can you please release a timeframe?
We’ve been waiting since November when we were originally told to wait 1 month. Our project has basically been on hold since then whilst we’ve waited for the update, had I realised at the time we would be in February with still no update I would have taken different action.
February 14, 2012 at 12:27 pm #438292I would very much like to know this aswell. I have fixe a lot of the bugs myself, but more keep building up?
February 14, 2012 at 1:11 pm #438295Apparantly JomSocial themselves are going to be doing the vast part of the work on the JA_Social template upgrade (the JomSocial part anyway), so hopefully this will speed things up.
We still need to know from Joomlart how long what they are doing (ie the rest of the theme) will take,
Also what version of Kunena the new template will be compatible with.

February 15, 2012 at 12:13 pm #438419Jomsocial informs us in their blog:
As a token of appreciation from our part, we have crafted a plan to update popular Joomla templates to be compatible with the upcoming JomSocial 2.6. The first outcome of this endeavour can be seen in our Joomlart Development site. The good looking JA Social template has been updated with several new JomSocial 2.6 features, boy it sure looks neat!

Looks nice, although there are still some styling issues in the jomsocial 2.6 with ja_social template demo:
