Hello Hung and Joomlart Staff,

Is Joomlart aware that there is a security update for Joomla? It has been out since 3rd June 2009.

I went to the download site. It does not appear that there are any updates yet.

Just one very big request. If you ever update any script in the template, can you please tell us what files were changed? And, if there is any forum topic that pertains to the issue, please provide the links in the CHANGELOG

During the last upgrade, for Teline II there were several changes in the template that were not even cited in the CHANGELOG — it messed up my sites.

I wanted to download a Teline II, but I have to wait until the updated QuickStart kit is ready.

I believe they are aware, there was a thread about this a few days back.
Normally, JA spend this time updating their files, so that’s why they tend to be rather quiet as soon as the updates begin, because updating 60+ templates is a massive task.

As to the change log, this has been suggested many times, but as of yet we have heard nothing.

They used to provide the relevant information before, at least for Teline II because there had been many changes on it.

So, when I did not see any entries in the changelog, I thought it was safe. Very big mistake — there was not only changes in scripts but also the names of files and a directory, as well as some old files were deleted.

When I asked what was going on, there was no response at all. So, I have no idea exactly what was causing the problem. The culpirts got revealed only by serendipity, and it was much later, after several sites were destroyed that I found solutions to it.

Until now, the changes in the scripts of Teline II, more particularly, the Hot Topic, has been the source of so many repeated tickets, even for new installations

N.B.

By the way, to avoid the issue of the Joomlart template scripts affecting the upgrade, it is best to just upgrade the Joomla component — especially if you are satisfied with your current site layout and other stuff.

I just tried a joomla 1.5.10=> Joomla 1.5.11 with this
