I see Joomla! 1.5.3 has been Released.
Has anyone upgraded using the avian II template?
Looking for any negative issues that may have happened due to upgrading before I upgrade myself.
I’ll probabaly upgrade me test site soon to see for myself.

Yes, we will upgrade the Quickstart to 1.5.3 as well as some bugs fixed to this template.

I hope there will be documentation on any upgrade procedures for people with existing sites running 1.5.2. Just redoing the quickstart and making people re-upload and start from scratch is a bit of a chore.

Has anyone using this template upgraded to 1.5.3 yet? I’m tentative in uploading the 1.5.3 from 1.5.2 update files from the joomla site for obvious reasons. 😮

How are we doing with a path to update to 1.5.3 for existing installations running 1.5.2?
I also need to know how or what I should do an upgrade for an existing install? I do not plan on redoing a website that is already LIVE with the template. I want to update from 1.5.2 to 1.5.3. Now, if there is not anything I need from you/JA and can just do the upgrade per joomla documentation than that is all I need to know.
I am just conerned about the update from 1.5.2 to 1.5.3 having some adverse effect on the current template from JA with the gallery too.

Hello, just wondering where we are with the 1.5.3 update.
ITS BEEN A LONG TIME NOW WITH OUT THE PROPER RESPONSE TO THIS.
I have not updated my website from 1.5.2 to 1.5.3 yet until I hear its OK to do so and any needed updates have been addressed.

I can say that I have upgraded over a dozen sites from 1.52 to 1.53 without any problems at all. Just FTPed the files from Joomla over top.
However I can not comment on JA Avian 2. I would really like to know what is going to happen with the RS Gallery and how it will get upgraded since it is custom work. I did try to upgrade RS Gallery and that completely messed up a test site.
It would be nice not to advertise on the bottom of the gallery that it is a svn version and also be able to have it upgraded without asking for help in here. Very nice way that it was added to the template but who’s doing the upgrades every time RS Gallery improves?
