Using joomla jumpbox and everytime I try to upload this template it gives the following message.

    * It was not possible to copy the selected file.
    * JInstaller::install: Failed to copy file: /var/data/joomla15/tmp/install_47b9578f3dee2/admin/en-GB.tpl_ja_barite.ini to /var/data/joomla15/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.tpl_ja_barite.ini

this directory (/var/data/joomla15/administrator/language/) and everything in it should be writable, depending on your hoster most likely needs to be set to 777
Many other templates do not use the language dir, so you won’t notice until you install one that does…

    Hope that helps.

that is no Joomla / JA specific problem, you can do it either with your FTP program or on command line, depends on what kind of server you are using.

on a linux box you would type something like:

    chmod -R 777 whateverpathtothere/administrator/language/

but thats basic server admin stuff and has nothing to do with the template or Joomla.
More info on file permissions and how to deal with them:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_permissions (yeah its techie stuff, but you have to digg into that to a certain degree…)

    Hi guenter1234 and pamelaj,

Menalto worked with and we were able to determine that a new version of the template fixed the issue.

My version of the files have a reference to the Drimea template. Look in your ja_templatetools and see if there is reference to drimea.

Anyway download a new copy, uninstall Barite and then reinstall the new version and the issue should be fixed.

Just my opinion. It would have been nice to know that the files had been updated. Perhaps make it version 1.0.1. It would have saved me lots of time.

Many thanks to Menalto to working with me to get the issue fixed.

    Hope this helps!

Using Mozilla everything works fine. The problem starts when it comes to use IE6. If i go for first time to any category or section using IE6 it look like on first photo. Then after refreshing the site works ok (second image). What can be the reason? How can I fixed it ?

I installed the v1.0 quickstart and have encountered two problems:

    1. The copyright and rss icon are missing.
    2. I cannot uninstall any templates. It gives me the “are you sure” and then a 403 you are not authorized error. :(( I have made sure that I changed the default template to something other than JA Barite.

    Thanks for the assistance.

No wysiwyg editors work when editing in front end after installing Barite. This is a major bug!!! Is there a fix for this???

You say “a new version of the template fixed the issue”, but what issue are you referring to? The first issue posted by guenter1234 was that two columns setting does not work. I uninstalled the template and tried both the version in the main download section and the one in the forum download section, but with the same result: Still only one column on the frontpage.

Edit: I think it is remarkable that noone from Joomlart has commented this issue that was posted more than two weeks ago!

That is really weird. I can’t make that happen. If I switch to another template, two columns show just fine – so I have done my settings correct.

    Edit:
    Problem solved in this thread
