Hi,
I’m using ja_Mageia template and Joomla 1.5RC1. When “Search Engine Friendly URLs” are enabled in global configuration then links in the left menu are not working (they all point to single location) however the top links work fine. Can you help to resolve this problem?
Thanks, Josef

August 25, 2007 at 9:19 am #228119Just to provide some more information: the style of the main menu is set to List (otherwise the menu is not formatted using the menu style). Interesting thing is that the links of submenus are correct.
The URL is: http://www.projects.ex.ac.uk/WaterSystems/joomla/
Another issue with the template is that active links in submenu are not highlighted. None of these problems was occuring using Joomla 1.5RC1 and template ja_mageia for Joomla 1.0.12.
August 29, 2007 at 8:58 am #228316Hi,
Attached is a screenshot (problem.jpg) showing the problem. The left menu button highlighted in red points to an incorrect link shown in the status bar (all the buttons in the left menu point to the same location). The top menu buttons (e.g. News highlighted in green) work fine. The problem occurs when the “Search Engine Friendly” URLs are enabled in Global Configuration (seo.jpg).
Could I ask you to provide me with some feedback about this problem? We’d like to launch the site as soon as possible and this issue which I believe is a bug in the template is preventing us to do so. Thank you in advance for your help. If you require any additional information, then please let me know.
Cheers, Josef

August 29, 2007 at 3:10 pm #228336Strange, is it happen when you turn off “Search Engine Friendly URLs”?
August 29, 2007 at 5:13 pm #228348No, it only happens when “Search Engine Friendly URLs” are turned on however we’d like to have them turned on.
August 29, 2007 at 10:18 pm #228370Just to make sure that the problem isn’t related to the installation of Joomla. I made a clean Joomla 1.5 RC1 installation on another machine, installed ja_mageia, enabled “SEF URLs” and the problem is exactly same. It’s just the main menu which isn’t working. Any other menus, like User Menu works fine. The menu worked again fine with SEF URLs disabled. Since the problem can be reproduced very easily, I believe that it won’t take long to find a solution.

August 30, 2007 at 4:41 am #228388Thank you for your feedback, that’s a bug came with the teamplate. However, the developer team fixed it as soon as they received the feedback.
Please re-download the template and re-install it, thank you.August 30, 2007 at 10:19 pm #228450Hi, thank you for a quick fix. I am very pleased with the support you’re providing. The problem with the links has been resolved. There’s however a minor issue remaining. The active item in submenu is not rendered in bold as it was under Joomla 1.1 or as it is on your demo website.
Correct behaviour: http://www.joomlart.com/templates_demo.php?template=ja_mageia
INCORRECT behaviour: http://www.projects.ex.ac.uk/WaterSystems/joomla/index.php/projects/current-projectsThe “Current Projects” item in this case should be rendered in bold. Do you think that you could have a look at this as well?
September 4, 2007 at 8:11 am #228774Hi, I apologise for pasting a wrong URL showing the correct behaviour. The right link is following:
