I have just now layed down requirements for a city portal. I plan to use these :-

-> JA Template -> preferably Teline4
-> JA Job Board
-> JReviews

I saw that JReviews is almost closer to J1.6. I was wondering if J1.6 gets stable release tommorrow, how long will it take for JA to release stable versions for J1.6 for Job Board and Templates?

Since this is a new site, would it be safe to go with J1.6? My strong view to go with J1.6 is because ACL + Structured categories.

I can wait for another month or two but it should be stable enough.

Dear Pradeep,

Teline IV wont be available immediately for Joomla 1.6, it would not be fair on my part to give you dates. If i was you, i would have given Joomla 1.6 atleast a month to settle down before developing sites on it….

Thanks Arvind.. I would definately give time before i move on to J1.6. I have around 2months of time for J1.6. It brings lot of advantages for my site and i dont want to be in J1.5 now and move to J1.6 in next 4-6months, thats tedious job. Hence i opened teh topic to get some tentative timeline.

Yeah, i did get your point. Even you know how silly it can get at times. Joomla 1.6 stable is probably coming out today (thats what i overheard) …. So, we are closing on and looking forward to J 1.6
