I’m running Joomla 1.6. I have formated my picture for the slide show to 460×300 per the guide. When the picture show up in the website however it is getting stretched. I made sure my settings for the slide show matched the guide. Can someone help please?

I have attached the screen shot from the website and the picture that is in it. This is happening to all the pictures (there are 4).

    Thank you,
    Jeff

Check PARAMETERS of your JA Slideshow.
I think you may actually have Main Item set for for 460 x 285.

Also in MARK STYLE use “Full Size” if you are indeed cutting you images to the correct size.
Only when you need Joomla to resize it for you should you use “Fit to main image” and when you do make sure the ratio is always 16:10 and this will prevent any stretching as long as your image is AT LEAST 460Xx285.

    have fun!

OK, I checked and I had it set to “Fit to Main Image” I changed and the same thing. I looked further and found I had cache turned on so I turned it off purged everything and still the same. So I went back tot eh advanced tab and found the Thumbnail mode and changed it to “Using Image Source” and that fixed it!

Thanks A Lot!! I appreciate the help!

Perfect! The reason you were still seeing the old image after initially making the change is that it was still using the image it created and saved in your “/images/resized” folder. This has been one of the shortcomings of Joomla in that once it creates a resized imaged…it pretty much stays with it until either you clear your cache and change settings (which you did) or simply delete the image in the ‘image/resized” folder and let it create a new one.

    Have fun!
    John.
