Be sure you back-up your current site configuration completely first . . . then give it a shot.Report back with your results – as I am certain there are a great many members here who are/will be interested in the same.

J2.5 was just released today . . . . as such – and if you want to check compatibility issues – I’m afraid you’re going to have to experiment a bit. Otherwise, my recommendation is to wait a week or to for others to work through initial testing and experimentation – at which time I am certain there will be additional information to research and learn from.January 24, 2012 at 6:40 pm #435247TomC ModeratorTomC

January 24, 2012 at 7:43 pm #435260Check this >> http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/joomla-2-5-backend-display-messed-up/.
hope that helps.
Do not try on live site and best to take backup. Every user develop his site in a kind a unique way.. it would be hard to guess what would break… probably we will have J 2.5.1 release within this week.. if the tradition goes well 🙂

According to info gleaned from the joomla.org forum this is a common occurrence. Go to Extensions -> Extension manager -> Database and click Fix. This should … fix it.
It is also strongly adviced to purge caches before attempting an upgrade to 2.5.

January 26, 2012 at 8:53 am #435513I installed JA Purity II (for Joomla 1.7) in a migrated site (1.5.25 with JA Purity II to 2.5 stable). The extension manager reported a succesfull installation but the template is not visible in the templatemanager so I can’t activate it.
Will Ja Purity II also be available in Joomla 2.5?Paul
January 27, 2012 at 3:36 am #435640JA_Methys 1.7 installs successfully according to the uploader… but is displayed as an administrator component in the list and doesn’t appear in the templates. 🙁
NEX has installed, though the default colour profile changer doesn’t seem to work…
January 27, 2012 at 5:27 am #435644I’m having an issue with JA Login module with Joomla 2.5. I’m using the JA Community Plus template. The module shows up twice as both enabled and disabled, the disabled has a yellow circle with exclamation. I updated to the latest JA Login, removed module, re-added and still the same thing.
Any ideas??
