Good morning, Joomla 3.7 has arrived and I have installed JA Megafilter Component, Module and Plugin 1.0.7, now I would like to have a drop-down search that can search into joomla articles by categories, meaning by type of business and by regions.

How can achieve that??? Cannot find any tutorial in your site. Thaks for your help!

Hi,

Yes, Joomla 3.7 was released and now, you can build search and filter for Jooma com_content as other supported 3rd extensions: K2, Virtuemart, DOCman, etc.

1. Each supported 3rd extension will have a plugin, so to use Joomla com_content, you will need to install following extension from the download page: https://www.joomlart.com/downloads/joomla-extensions/ja-megafilter/
   • JA Megafilter Component
   • JA Megafilter Joomla extra fields plugin
2. Install the 2 extensions to your Joomla 3.7 site.
3. Next, you will need to create extra fields group and extra fields (Content >> Field Groups and Content >> Field) then open article to assign extra fields.
4. Create filter for joomla com_content: https://www.joomlart.com/documentation/joomla-component/ja-megafilter#create-filter
5. Create JA Mega Filter » Default Layout menu

Now you have a joomla article filter page.
