    hi,

    I’m another of those infernal novices here with a very silly question!

    I’ve purchased a Joomlart 3 responsive template package and now, with my hosting account all set up and Joomla 3.2 downloaded and ready for action, I want to download the template and get started on my new website.

    The template page in the Joomlart website has seven files available for download;

    JA Wall for Joomla 2.5 (46.25 MB) quickstart
    JA Wall for Joomla 3.2 (48.04 MB) quickstart
    JA Wall Template for J25 & J32 (1.83 MB) template
    JA Extenstion Manager Component for J25 & J32 (563.6 KB) component
    JA System Pager Plugin for J25 & J30 (5.0 KB) plugin
    JA System Lazyload Plugin for J25 & J32 (72.1 KB) plugin
    JA System Social Feed Plugin for J25 & J3.2 (138.4 KB) plugin

    I’m going to try my luck at ‘quickinstalling’ the template, so my question is;

    Do you need to download all the files or just the JA Wall for Joomla 3.2 (48.04 MB) quickstart file?

    They’re all ticked, so I got confused.

    Thank you very much for any help from you smart guys out there!

    Best regards,

    Mark

    Just download the J3.2 quickstart. It’s all you need.

    Good luck with Wall – it’s a great template.

    thanks swissa. I’ll do that.
    Then I need to unzip them and put everything in the public_html file, right?
    Probably wrong!

    I don’t know your hosting but that seems like the place to put the files. I’d upload them as the zip file and then unpack the archive there using either cpanel or plesk depending on your hosting. It will be quicker this way.

    Set up a new sql database and user as you’ll need these when you install joomla (already in the quickstart). From upload to live site should probably be less than 10 mins. 😉

    You are bound to get stuck, have questions etc so I have two bits of advice for you. First download akeeba backup software, install it and test it. This will stop you having to keep install Wall from new when you mess it up (and we all do/did!).

    Second, have a good look around the Wall forum. Just reading through, you’ll gain so much insight and knowledge that you’ll feel like a pro very soon.

    Anything else just ask on the forum – good bunch of people here always willing to offer experience and advice.

    Best of luck.

    thanks again swissa.
    I’ll take your advice and download akeeba.
    What’s your hourly rate by the way?!!
    Cheers,
    Mark
