August 13, 2013 at 2:54 am #189675this is the reason Joomla states on it website why it unpublished Joomshopping, so why was it added to the template? Any type of security issue should have been a red flag for Joomlart to not add this component to the template and yet no one here posted a warning of any type! So everyone that downloaded this template is at risk! Because Joomla has not completed their investigation, plus joomshopping is still not listed on Joomla.com!
UR7-Under Investigation
An investigation of any nature can cause this unpublish reason. Most common are security reports (until the VEL Team verifies the report), voting/review issues, reports of call-home functions, reports of obfuscated code etc. Any issue we need to to look into will cause a listing to be unpublished with this error code. To avoid delays, while you wait for the investigation to conclude be sure you have the latest version of your extension attached to the listing.

August 13, 2013 at 12:59 pm #502081Please do not try and scare people. There are numerous reasons that the JED temporarily un-publish extensions. Recently for instance the excellent Feedgator project (used in JA Wall) was unpublished due to a very simple fact that the person checking it was struggling to install one of the components. In the case of Joomshopping it is under investigation so until that is complete we really cannot draw any conclusions as to why. As well as security reports there are numerous other reasons that this could be under review and most are nothing to do with putting customers at risk.

August 13, 2013 at 9:12 pm #502126That is simply not true that caution should be advised. The JED remove products from its listings for far too many reasons. Sometimes it may not comply with their licencing, sometimes it may be a security issue, sometimes it may be something really simple such as the author not submitting an update in time. Until the JED make it clear any speculation as to why is simply that, speculation. The reasons could be very simply and it is you, not me that are trying to suggest that it has been removed for security reasons.
Again, I feel you are scaremongering and quite franky I do not like the tone of your response towards me. Feel free to take me to court, this would be laughed out here in the UK (yes, I studied LAW). Why, because you are speculating at the reasons for a components withdrawal from a website that does not even fully publish its reasons. Any code online caries a risk, any code that you have on your computer carries risk because there will always be people who try to comit crime. It is up to the individual to make a personal evaluation but I certainly would not worry based on speculation as to why a product is not listed on one particular website.
By the way, these are my opinions not those of Joomlart. I do not work for Joomlart but am happy to provde my support to the community as I have done for yourself in the past. It is not the first time I have had to put up with your agressive attitude and veiled threats towards me.

August 14, 2013 at 3:38 am #502151Hi Charles,
I must inform you that two of your offending posts were deleted by another moderator (not phill)… while, we do not encourage deletion of posts especially from a flared up topic, but its the moderator discretion.
Back to topic :
1. Yes, We came to know about the JoomShopping extension being unpublished from JED.
If you read the last line of the UR7 – under imvestigation
To avoid delays, while you wait for the investigation to conclude be sure you have the latest version of your extension attached to the listing.JED has unpublished but has not recommended the extension as unsafe or it does not say that usage of that extension is illegal. Yes, we are concerned too and would be gettting in touch with JoomShopping developers to find the cause and if we need to take further steps.
I would be updating the product page listing about the JED status so as to keep our members informed. For now, we would be removing the JoomShopping component from the quickstart.
JoomShopping being popular, I am sure JoomShopping developers will work with JED and resolve the issue, as the broad category of reasons are easy to fix.
1. Voting / review issues – the extension will be stripped of all reviews / voting or submitted fresh, if there is a case of false voting / rating.
2. Call home functions / obfuscated code : Dev will need to be GNU/GPL complaint, which given the popularity of extension, should not be a problem for the devs.long story short : We know of the issue and we will update product page to inform users and wait for JoomShopping devs reply before taking further steps, quickstart will not include JoomShopping component.
Now, regarding your outburst against Phill, it was avoidable and few sentences were uncalled for. Phill is one of the most respected senior moderator in the forum and I can assure you, he is not biased towards JA. There was no need for insulting him and name calling. I hope this ends here. For anything you may need official clarification, you can PM me henceforth.
As a friendly reminder, please avoid harsh words and undue insults towards moderators, another mod deleted your posts and if this continues I am afraid I will have to deny you forum access and limit you to ticket support.
@phill luckhurst I apologize for being late in discussion here, the thread got flagged to me this morning. Thanks for holding the fort and taking the brunt of it.Regards
Arvind

August 14, 2013 at 5:52 pm #502238charles99,
here is the thread and probable reason why joomshopping was removed from JED :
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=262&t=811884&sid=a927091118a6fb627be6304b6cb3d3f5
This time i have deleted your post, it was really not needed. let it go and lets get back to work at hand. There are few good things coming up soon
1. Documentation site is almost done and JA Fixel userguide will also be on it.
2. JA new site (beta) is also coming up hopefully this friday for review.. there are good changes and we have tried to make it more user friendly.I would appreciate if you use your energy in constructive criticism.
last word on this topic.. if JoomShopping goes down officially from JED, we will drop it too and supplement with other shopping cart. At this time, its between JED and JoomShopping devs. Do not test the patience of moderators here or i will have to move you just to tickets, you wont like it and i wont be happy doing so. lets try to get along.
Regards
Arvind
