I have a site that I have built using JA_Methys and which is using Joomla v1.6.6, I have a problem with the Forgotten Password and Forgotten Username procedures…

It seems [from testing] to be a problem with the JA T3 v2 framework and before I upgrade to Joomla v1.7.x, I would like to resolve this so that I don’t create even more issues for myself as I don’t think this upgrade will be that smooth as there are quite a few pieces to this website…

If you go and click on Login in the upper right hand corner and click on Forgot Password or Forgot Username it sends you to:
    http://www.juiceylucys.com/index.php?option=com_users&view=reset&Itemid=603

It actually would be sending you to this:
    http://www.juiceylucys.com/index.php?option=com_users&view=reset

but I used CD Login’s ability to send to an appropriate page so that there is something showing up – as you will notice if you use the:
    http://www.juiceylucys.com/index.php?option=com_users&view=reset

page, there is just no content 🙁

I have been told by 2 programmers that if you have this problem with a specific template and not other more basic templates, it’s either the template or the framework that is at fault – which sense to me.

if I enter an email address such as exlemor@solutions-by-design.com on the page:

    http://www.juiceylucys.com/index.php?option=com_users&view=reset&Itemid=603
, i DO receive an email but the link in that email:

    http://www.juiceylucys.com/index.php?option=com_users&view=reset&layout=confirm

    gives me a blank page…

and yes if you add the &Itemid=603, it does show content as expected:

    http://www.juiceylucys.com/index.php?option=com_users&view=reset&layout=confirm&Itemid=603

SO, how can this be fixed so that the Joomla core code works as expected? because I don’t want to hack the joomla core code and I couldn’t find a way to pass along the &Itemid=603 part…

In the backend configuration, I have these settings in place :

Search Engine Friendly URLs: No – due to this sort of issue of conflict with JA t3 v2 framework
    Use URL rewriting: Yes
    Adds Suffix to URL: Yes
    Unicode Aliases: No
Include Site Name in Page Titles: Yes.

Looking forward to an explanation and a permanent fix!

    Hoping a swift resolution.
    Thanks,

    Emmanuel.

P.S.: I have tried solving this (at least temporarily) in many ways including via Redirect manager but without any luck

    Hi
As far i can understand your issue because missed Itemid than component not render.
Actually it’s not really bug. ( err i forgot i have posted about this issue but where is it 😐 ) … Because in template we have option to hide component at homepage.
So …without Itemid … will be consider as homepage and … that’s why no component render .

Beside that, actually you should have itemid for any link to prevent troubles.

    Thank you
