I need to set my joomla/JA Mitius up with the ability to set up communities or groups. Essentially this would be a mini site around a game. These groups are essentially mini sites of my main site. These would be mini blogs with the ability to create their own pages and blog entries and even have their own uploads.

I bought jomsocial, but this isn’t quite what i”m looking for. It seems really basic and really more to get a facebook like experience.

Is there an addon or a way to set up joomla to create something like this?

Have you tried to search around on Joomla Extension Directory? Apart from Jomsocial, you might need to find single extension for each certain feature, eg. Blog, community…Anyway, I am sorry for not giving any specific recommendation at the moment.
