I had problems upgrading Joomla_1.5.10_to_1.5.23-Stable-Patch_Package.tar, since it crashed the site. I reloaded the backup, and tried again with the same results. My ISP was able to load the patch on their end, and it worked. The site seems to be functioning fine, JA Teline II, on the frontend, but on the backend, I cannot add a new article within article manager. I can type text, and select a photo, but cannot publish the article. I checked the template manager, and the parameters.ini file is still showing as writable. I was also able to go into a module and make a minor change, which was reflected on the site, so it’s allowing some changes to be made. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We have content that needs to be updated waiting, and this has shut down our ability to add new content.

I discovered the problem is with the TinyMCE plug-in editor. Many people have had similar problems online. The fix that worked for me was to download the full Joomla version that matched my upgrade in a zip file. I extracted it locally, and found the /plugins/editors directory. I backed up and deleted the directory on my server and uploaded the folder from the extracted zip file. Finally, I had to clear the cache in my browser for the “save” and “apply” buttons to start working again. I hope this helps others.
