November 18, 2014 at 5:38 am #555535If there is a conflict with Jomsocial, how do I fix that? How about an overwrite in the custom.css file?

November 18, 2014 at 5:41 am #555536HI
The menu class are override by the jomsocial classes . You need to write your problem to jomsocial forum.
you can see the classes are override by Jomsocial classes , we can not change the classed of Jomsocial code.

November 18, 2014 at 6:28 am #555540I’ve logged the class overwrite problem with jomsocial.
1. I have another problem. The top menu doesn’t switch to the German version, neither with mega menu turned on or off. I’ve tried cloning and assigning the style to English and German menu items, and using different English and German menu, but whenever i switch from one style to another I overwrite the previous settings.
2. I need to know how to prevent the template from displaying the Joomla content items, only modules.

November 18, 2014 at 8:29 am #555569The problem with the German language selection is that the top menu is not displayed in German.
http://awesomescreenshot.com/05c3vbfz0e
I need four styles:
style name: defaultenglish
selected menu: top-english
assigned links: all English menu items except Top-English/Newsstyle name: defaultgerman
selected menu: top-german
assigned links: all German menu items except Top-German/Newsstyle name: homeenglish
selected menu: top-english
assigned links: Top-English/Newsstyle name: homegerman
selected menu: top-german
assigned links: Top-German/NewsThe only difference between home… styles and default… styles is that home… styles are not supposed to display the main application content (e.g. Joomla Full Article or Blog View/Layout)
See my old News page with the old JA T3 template
http://staging1.therebel.org/en/news
and the current News page with the new T3 template
In German it’s even worse because of the missing top menu:
old German news page:
http://staging1.therebel.org/de/news
new German news page:
My problem is that when I change the menu or the assignment of any of the four styles, it overwrites the settings of the previously selected style.
I also can’t change the appearance of the mega menu, for example display the submenu options in multiple columns (see Institute menu)

November 18, 2014 at 9:57 am #555579I managed to fix the multilingual top menu by duplicating the templates in the template manage, but I’m not sure if that’s the right way of doing it because in the old JA T3 template, I could manage the various layouts within one copy of the template. So now I have 4 copies of the same template, two for German and two for English. I need two per language, because I need a version for the News page that uses the JA News Featured and the JA News Pro module, where I need to suppress the Joomla blog layout view.
Remaining problem 1:
Jomsocial have come back to me with a suggestion how to fix the menu problem, but that was to delete line 23 of mainnav.php in your template.<nav id="t3-mainnav" class="wrap navbar navbar-default t3-mainnav"
It’s working now, but I hope this solution is not going to break anything in the template and of course there is the problem of future upgrades
Remaining problem 2:
I really would like to use the left sidebar (sidebar-1) for the English ‘News categories’ respectively the German ‘Nachrichtenrubriken’ menu modules.http://awesomescreenshot.com/0823vfa9e3
Unfortunately that left sidebar narrows the main content too much, so I would need to widen the width of the page or at least narrow the “sidebar-1” module position. Is that possible and how?
Remaining problem 3:
on the http://therebel.org/en/news page I haven’t been able to find a good module position for the JA News Featured and the JA News Pro module, and also have problems with the JA News Featured module not displaying the first item correctly.
http://awesomescreenshot.com/0c03vfdo55
These are my settings for the JA Featured Module:

November 18, 2014 at 6:08 pm #555641HI please don`t mix up multiple problems in single thread . Always open a new thread for a new different/new problem .
Yes its normal that you created a new template style for multilanguage issue .If you want to upgrade your joomla you can update it .
Make sure take a backup of your site before update . or try update on your test site .
Go to component>>joomla update .1 user says Thank You to Pankaj Sharma for this useful post
