Hi Everyone and particularly those who maintain this site.
For some reason, every time I come to joomlart.com, which is several times per week, I am forced to login again, no matter which browser I use: Firefox 3.X, IE7, IE8, Safari. I’ve tried this on 2 different computers, too. I have my security settings pretty low. All other web sites that have a “Remember Me” check box actually remember me. But not joomlart.com. This site forces me to login again, every time!
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there something I’ve missed with my more then 25 years of Internet and Web experience? I’m willing to learn something new… 🙂
I really am getting tired of being forced to login again looking at the “Remember Me” box, checking it and still have to login again. Then, when I login, I’m sent right to my Membership Page as if I have to be reminded every day of the year that I haven’t subscribed to every frickin’ membership Joomlart has!
Can someone please help me?
Thanks,

March 16, 2009 at 4:41 pm #296290I never had to type in my password since I first logged in in September 2008, so it is a problem with your browsers or your settings.;)

Thanks for the feedback wooohanetworks. It must be some setting in my Joomlart Profile because I have tried this on 3 different computers with 6 different types of browsers.
I’ve even looked at my profile but to no avail.
Anyone else experiencing this problem? (for those who have figured out how to get into these forums by using the password “password.”)
Thanks,

Didn’t think there was either web design or a web to design for let alone internet even milnet and arrpnet back in 83? maybe I’m old and have forgotten it sometimes happens
Make sure you
1. don’t have cookies disabled
2. Don’t have cookies set to expire at every session close
3. are not clearing cookies at browser shut down
each browser FF or IE has different methods of setting these so I’ll leave it to you to check etc
Flush browser cache, shut down browser restart and try again?Hope this gives you ideas

March 17, 2009 at 5:41 am #296379I have to say the JA forum is the only forum I visit that doesn’t remember me. I’ve tried Safari and Firefox, clicked the ‘Rember Me’ box and logged in. Next session, I’m logged out again!
I put it down to a ‘Mac’ thing, but maybe not 🙂

ShannonN</blockquote>Hi ShannonN.
All good things to check but in this case, cookies is not an issue. I don’t clear cookies unless I have a problem. Because I prefer not to have to login again at the many (at least 100) sites I login to, I always set “Remember Me” on and have no problems with any other sites (like Joomla.org, Rockettheme and JoomlaJunkie for examples). Joomlart.com is the only site I have this problem with. Thanks, though.

Hi jsliao.
Never use AOL. I hate it with a passion! I recommend my clients run away from AOL (and MSN) as soon as possible and never go back! 😀 They are both evil and can create more problems then they are worth. But thanks for asking. Good question!
questbg, I don’t think it is a Mac issue. I’ve tried this on Windows 2000, XP and Vista machines. I don’t know what it is.
Any other suggestions out there?
BW

May be that you always access the page with http://www.joomlart.com and your cookie is for joomlart.com, so when you clear this cookie and get a new one called http://www.joomlart.com you may not have problems anymore.Because I have 4 cookies for http://www.joomlart.com and maybe twice as much for joomlart.com. But I have at least some for http://www.joomlart.com and always access the site with the www.
I do not know if this is the problem, but could be, all I know it that when you do not activate a certain function on your server to accept acces via domain.com the site can only be accessed via http://www.domain.com. The F.B.I. did not so, so anywho typing just http://fbi.gov gets a “page not found” note, only when typiing the fuil address with www you get normal access…:D Nice idea for a site like the F.B.I., whenever you need quick help and just type in fbi.gov you get no access…. This seems to be something like a “Can you pass the Acid Test” of the 21th century….
But “fun” aside, I don’t know if your browsers have asked you once “Do you want to save the login information for that site?” and you pressed no. At least with a a lot of other sites I pressed no and so my browser never asked me again and I had to type in anything anytime I visit the sites. I think this function has even nothing to do with cookies but those usernames and passwords are stored on your computer, making it possible that you can also import these to other browsers, like I did with Chrome, I imported all those I think from FF automatically.

March 19, 2009 at 2:58 pm #296859I was having trouble staying logged on to JA and Hung told me to delete the cookies from this site and come back and log in. I clicked the “remember me box” and I haven’t had trouble since.
If you have firefox there is an add on that will allow to view cookies from individual sites. I clicked on JA’s cookies and manually deleted them. There are approximately 8 total. While on the website you are trying to fix use the following path to view individual cookies from that site: Tools > Web Developer > Cookies > View Cookie Information > manually delete each cookie.
Hope you get it figured out!
