October 10, 2012 at 2:36 am #181307How to I stop the individual products from displaying on the main/home page? When I click on a specific item listed I expect it to open a new page without the banner and have it’s own page assigned. But instead the item is being displayed on the main page section.

October 10, 2012 at 7:50 am #469614You need to have a main menü item ‘shop’ otherwise joomla will take it to ‘home’ – which is what is happening.

That’s it. I need to publish the jshopping menu. Once that’s reactivated, it goes there instead of main page. Thanks again swissa.myfassion Friendmyfassion

Spoke to soon. This problem has reappear. I have a menu item called “Shop” as suggested. The type is JShopping->Products under Menu Item Type. There is no type “Shop” so I’m not clear if that what’s needed. Anyway I’m still experiencing that same behavior; When I click on a specific item listed I expect it to open a new page without the banner and have it’s own page assigned. But instead the item is being displayed on the main page section.Need help

October 14, 2012 at 11:27 am #470011I can’t offer help as I can’t see your site so I have no idea what it is actually doing!
What version of the template and what version of Joomshopping are you using?

October 15, 2012 at 1:39 pm #470138Would still be useful to know what versions of template and Jshopping you are using. JS is now up to version 3.11.4.
Meantime you can try the following. Provided you have done a backup!
Change htaccess.txt to .htaccess in root and set Joomla to use Search Engine Friendly URLs in Global Configuration. (You will have to ensure that YOU set the alias name in products and categories if you are not using the latest versions of joomshopping – older ones – 3.2.7/3.4.0 etc did not do aliases automatically.)
While you are there I would set Cache to OFF. You site is not heavily loaded and you need cache off in the shopping component anyway. Clear all the cache for the site, Joomla and JAT3. In template manager set optimise css and optimise js to No.

The version of JoomShopping is 3.5.0. If this is suspect, I will update this evening using Akeeba. I installed using quick start. Will I have any issues regarding this?

October 15, 2012 at 3:39 pm #470162You could do so be careful. Do the backup and save it before you start the update process.
You MUST update in steps, which can be a pain in the arse, and you MUST do it using JoomShopping update (myfassion.net/administrator/index.php?option=com_jshopping&controller=update) and NOT Joomla. If you don’t you could lose all your shop data.
For you that means in this order….
3.5.0 > 3.5.1
3.5.1 > 3.6.0
3.6.0 >3.6.1
3.6.1 > 3.7.0
3.7.0 > 3.7.1
3.7.1 > 3.7.2
3.7.2 > 3.8.0
3.8.0 > 3.8.1
3.8.1 > 3.9.0
3.9.0 > 3.10.0
3.10.0 > 3.11.0Updates are here.
I have written a new template for Tiris for JoomShopping adding in all the new functionality etc and you can find it here.
Viel Glück!

These versions are no longer available as an option from the Maxx site, so I backed up the site and went straight to 3.11. Lost all the categories and products but that was to be expected. The question I have is whether I can recover the banner page once a product has been clicked. I’m not referring to the banner from the main menu. That problem appears resolved. I referring to the banner that was there in 3.5 of JoomShopping.
