I am hoping someone can help me out. I’m apparently having a little brain cramp…

I decided to not use the quickstart so that I can convert my existing site to the new Tiris template. (Using Joomla 1.5.25 on my own Linux server). I’ve done quite well at getting everything going with no problems to speak of except for 1 nagging issue. When a list of Joomshopping products are displayed, if you click a product, the context switches to the Home page and the item is displayed (along with all the modules that are Home page modules).

I can see that the page changes from Shopping to Home as the Home menu becomes highlighted. Installing the quickstart on the same machine results in “normal” behavior where clicking on a product results in the context staying in Joomshopping and the products being displayed.

So, could someone let me know what setting or permission I’ve overlooked. I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong and I’m sure it’s a simple, stupid thing.

    Thanks in advance,
    Bob

    Figured it out…

What you need to have is a 1st level menu item that points to a joomshopping module that is “Main page of shop”. Without this menu item, the Home context is used for products when they are clicked on resulting in the Home Pages modules also being loaded in. Now that I added in a Shopping menu, everything works great.

The template must have the main shop on the menu from my experience.
Step 1: Create a top level menu called Shop (or Shopping). The type needs to be Joomshopping->Shop (I think)
Step 2: Create a child menu to the Shop menu for all the categories. This is Joomshopping->Categories (I think)

Seems like you’ve already done this and solved it. πŸ™‚

If you are still having problems here is another thread where half way done there is another solution – http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/home-page-worries/

“In the profile you can choose what you want to show i have created a new layout called noslideshow where slideshow position and slidenews positions are deleted you can assign that layout at the profiles you have created before english and german so you can shows all products as you like

You can do many many things no needs to install another template you can do all with the profile override”

I tried everything that I can think off. I cannot get rid of the slideshow when I checkout the cart. This is a really annoying bug. I laso have 2 languages on my site and I don’t know what’s causing it. I used previously Rocket Theme templates that have a fix for this problem on the template configuration but T3 is different from Gantry framework and we don’t have this option…

There is an easy solution for this using T3. You want it now or wait until tomorrow? πŸ˜€

Well now would be good πŸ˜€ I am now moving the Frontpage content to a new empty page and it seems to be working. I placed the store on another top menu
