    Hello,

I would like your opinions on this matter, please.

I am considering using a Joomla social networking application for my website. But, I am comfused by the variety of claims of Joomunity and jCommunity and others like Joomsocial.

I would like a powerful plateform for my users and cost should not be a problem. Has anyone of you been using one of these social networking sites? What do you think of the one(s) you have used?

    Thank you for your replies.

for now, community builder is about the best, many components have plugins for it, and it is constantly and actively updated and improved

as far as I know the two you mentioned are in beta and still too buggy for live use

So, is CB really the favourite?

How safe is it to handle large database of membership? Do you guys have any experience with CB?

I run a site that has over 5,000 active members and CB works perfectly for that. I have added (or hacked) many cool things into it as well. I also have another basic install with over 1300 and it’s beyond easy and I’m just getting ready to upgrade to J!1.5 and I’ll be able to keep all the CB data where it is. I have not tried anything else. CB also has a lot of dedicated developers working on it and extensions. And there is a huge community with lots of help from the forums. I’m running into more and more sites online using CB as I cruise around, just being a web user. So, I feel pretty secure in that.
