April 1, 2014 at 5:10 pm #529032I feel it does not matter what version is but it is built on Joomla! 3.2.3 Stable [ Ember ] 6-March-2014 14:30 GMT with Ja Fixel Version:1.0.3 Released Date: 15 Jan 2014.
Just tell me please that I am wrong, but I feel the only way to avoid the trouble (what may happen when my client log in at backend ;)) …is to buy this addon mentioned above.
So how could my client -the shop owner- adding or editing the shop’s item from frontend?

April 1, 2014 at 6:15 pm #529047Difficult.
What are you trying to achieve or avoid? That your client breaks the site?
Better for you may be to install this so that you can control what the client is able to do – http://www.webdesigner-profi.de/joomla-webdesign/shop/addons/extend-access.html?lang=en
Hope that helps?

April 1, 2014 at 6:31 pm #529048I share you concern as for not to give your client an access to J! backend. It only makes sense.
I am not a JoomShopping expert by any stretch of imagination but judging by the list of frontend menu items by the “JoomShopping” type available for you within “JA Fixel” Quick Start install, you still can delegate a frontend access to a fair share of JoomShopping tasks to your client. Please have a look at my screenshot to see what I mean:
Hope this helps.

Alex

April 2, 2014 at 7:12 am #529142Hi Alex,
Hi palosutca,You can’t offer access to jshopping from the front end (without the expensive plugin).
As to offering the client back-end access;
well it is the client, it is their site, and they are paying!!
So maybe allow it. 🙂
Just make sure you set them up properly as a user. Don’t give them Super User access and use the inbuilt ACL to ensure they can’t beak the site, delete plugins etc. That is why permissions are built in. The addon I highlighted above for jshopping takes care of the rights of users within js so that you can restrict what they do.

April 2, 2014 at 4:52 pm #529232You do have quite a dilemma on your hands.
From one hand you would like your client to enjoy his website for long time and, hopefully, generate more business for you in the long run.
From another hand, you are concerned that your client can inadvertently mess his website up and cause problems for you.
Imho, it all depends on your own business policies: are you happy to babysit your clients when they phone you up at 8PM or do you just prefer finishing their projects and cut them off?
Regards,
Alex

April 3, 2014 at 1:46 pm #529362Hi Alex & Swissa,
Thank you but do excuse me… I totally do not understand and cannot guess what you mean with “JoomShopping Menu Items”.
Yes, this would be a evident way to have a “JoomShopping Menu Item” called “Edit products” or similar but there is no any “JoomShopping Menu Item Type” what would let us do the same like “Create Article”…and guys, I just help to make a little shop for my friend’s wife who is familiar with frontend editing of an article, or a K2 item.
Well I cannot tell her that there is the seventh door unlocked but you should never try to open it :p
She will try it and I will have some awaken night then.:eek:It seems the only way to play with the user access and permissions or buy:
– Extend Access for 15.00 EUR
– Front Product Editor for 35.00 EUR
– Vendor Front End for 129.00 EURAny other idea would be much appreciated, of course!

April 3, 2014 at 2:26 pm #529369You have discovered the only ways to do it. Extend Access + FPE is probably the easiest way to go.
Why not teach your friend to do it via administrator then he can wake up at night and help his wife! He also gets the rewards too. 😀
