I’m trying to get JUGA and Joomlart templates to work together

Issue is that as the menu is hard coded into the template it’s a nightmare to get JUGA working

I’ve been asked to help a mate move his template across from one I previously built to a Joomlart template and it doesn’t work.

Yes I’ve searched the forums high and low and the “solutions” don’t work as explained

Groups are set up and they should only see the menu items relating to their group permissions.
What happens is that all menu items are seen and if you click on the ones you don’t have permission for the site front page appears.

Has anyone got JACL functioning with a Joomlart template as is?
If so … how did you achieve this?

Alternatively how do I remove/disable the menu code to enable my own menu to replace it
