May 6, 2012 at 5:37 pm #176777Hi
I’ve just gone live with a new e-commerce site (http://www.tenandsixpence.co.uk) based on the JA Tiris quickstart and I think the template is fantastic with many great features.
I just need help with a couple of clean-up issues please.
I use the K2 blog (main menu/blog) but it displays in the default red colour rather than the custom theme (106) that I have used throughout the site. I tried everything I can think of but can’t seem to fix this – help welcome please!
I also have a strange one on main menu/my account/my basket and my wishlist pages. Neither page displays the (h1) Page Title even though it is set to display=yes in the main menu settings for both these pages. I use the same approach on the other pages in the My Account sub-menu and all display the page title OK so I’m mystified. Again – any help would be welcome.
Thanks

May 6, 2012 at 9:10 pm #451717Hi placidpete,
To address the first point. You can sort this by making sure you use page assignments in Template Manager / Tiris / Profiles.
Make sure that you pick the K2 items and then make sure you assign these to the colour profile. I hope this picture helps.
For wishlist and cart it is normal that the page title does not appear. Do you really want it to??
Hope that helps you…….
Nice site by the way!

May 6, 2012 at 10:17 pm #451721Thanks Swissa
On the K2 blog I nearly made it! Throughout the site I’m using the default profile with custom theme 106 attached – that’s what appears everywhere except the K2 blog.
I tried adding the K2 content as you suggested and assigning the default profile but it made no difference – still red. I then tried assigning the blue profile and the blog indeed changed to blue and the Tiris logo appeared (as I would expect). I then tried cloning the blue profile and adding the 106 theme – back to red again.
So since my default profile already includes the 106 theme I’m not sure why I can’t simply assign that to the K2 content too?
On the page titles, it’s just a consistency thing since they are used on all the other pages. I would like to be able to display them.

May 6, 2012 at 10:33 pm #451722Hoi placidpete,
I like consistency too. Don’t assign the default profile to K2. Assign the blue. Don’t clone the blue just leave it as these pages assigned to blue and then make a copy of your logo and set it into templates/ja_tiris/themes/blue/images/logo.png
That should clear off your problems. I can’t explain why as it is always difficult to explain without seeing the problem first hand but please do not send me any login details – let’s leave that to the JA guys if you need it.
FYI – I played a lot with themes on Tiris as I think it (along with JoomShopping) makes for a mega template – I’m no Shakespeare but I wrote this to explain using different colours and themes. Maybe it helps in understanding.
Anyway, all the best with the site!

May 6, 2012 at 10:51 pm #451725Hi Swissa
Following your suggestion I tried a little experiment. I used the blue profile for K2 but added my 106 theme to the profile in addition to the blue and default themes already there. Hey presto – correct colours and logo!
Thanks so much for your support – you really saved my a lot of time (and frustration). Thanks also for you comments on the site – much appreciated.
