I’m using K2 for all of my content but different URLs for an item are generated if I click on the main menu in my site or click through a direct link in a module. I’m using SEF links.

For example, in my main menu I have an “about” section. If I click on “about” then click on the item, the “about” tex in the main menu gets highlighted properly. and the URL is site/about/item/6-about-me.html

But I also have a K2 content module for “most recent” items. If I click on the “read more” link there, it takes me to site/component/k2/item/6-about-me.html

The problem with clicking on the K2 content module link is that since Joomla doesn’t know that item is in the “about” section, other modules that should load in the “about” section don’t load.

I tried this with regular Joomla articles and have the same issue, so I don’t think it’s K2 specific.

Doh! never mind, I figured out what was wrong. I created K2 sub-categories and forgot to update the “about” menu item to also include the sub-categories
