August 12, 2014 at 3:27 pm #545678Hi there,
Do you think you could clone your main web-site into its own dedicated database, like “test”, and a test sub-folder, like /test/? You can easily do so via Akeeba Backup component.
This will allow us to efficiently investigate your main web-site in its sandbox and check for you various ideas while we are looking at solutions for your issue(s).
Once we found a valid solution for you in your sandbox, you will then be able to apply it to your main site.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Alex

August 14, 2014 at 12:15 pm #545968Thanks Alex,
I have now overcome the accordion issue, but following updates much of the site was broken. I have still got quite a few issues outstanding but if I am unable to work my way through them and I can’t find a solution here I shall start a new thread. Like, ‘what happened to image captions?’Regards,

August 14, 2014 at 1:44 pm #545974Hi Codger,
I am pleased to hear you sorted out your JA Accordion, although you still don’t seem to run it’s latest version.
Surely, you are more than welcome to open a new dedicated thread per issue if you wish so but I still would advise creating a full Akeeba Backup copy of your site first.
Once this copy installed elsewhere on your server or/and on one of our team member’s locall/remote sandbox, things (like upgrading your K2 to version 2.6.8, for example) will be moving much faster for you.
To be able to update your JoomlArt extensions, please go to Components -> JA Extension Manager -> Service Manager -> JoomlArt Updates :
1. Select its radio button and click the “Default” icon, to make JoomlArt Remote Update Service your default update service (please keep in mind, that our remote update service updates only JOOMLART’S templates and extensions. You can not update 3-rd party extensions, like K2, for example, via it).
2. Click on “Edit” and enter your JoomlArt’s username and password, the same ones you login with to this forum, click “Save” and you are done to update your JoomlArt’s templates and extensions under your JA Extensions Manager.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Alex

August 15, 2014 at 11:48 am #546120Hi Alex,
The versions referred to above are up to date, I believe.
There are so many issues (e.g. resized image filesizes being 250-300kB) with K2 that I think that I shall have to abandon K2. I have posted a new thread.

August 15, 2014 at 1:34 pm #546130Hi Codger,
If you arrive to a decision to replace K2, my friendly recommendation for you would be to shortlist EasyBlog. You can have a look at its front- and back end demos at http://stackideas.com/demo. EasyBlog is a paid extension but worth every penny, including due to its brilliant support.
As your web-site is still under development, if you take on EasyBlog route, you may be interested in switching your web-site from your current JA Nex template to our JA Magz template which has its dedicated to EasyBlog CSS style:
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Alex
