Hi there

I am looking at the demo for the K2 Filter component. The "Keyword search" does not seem to search some of the K2 extra fields – for example, the location field. If I enter a value like "New York" or "Colorado" the results are null.

Is there a way to fix this? I would like to buy this component, but I would need this functionality for fields formatted like the "Location" field (clickable).

Hi,

Yes, at this time this field is not supported to search by Keyword search. It was a field created by JA K2 Filter. We’ll consider to add this feature to this component.

For example, if I put ‘Guess’ in the search field, it will show all items which have guess text in text field and extra fields. Is that what you want?

The "location" field shows some "clickable" values – for example, the first item has "New York" as the value in this field. (These clickable fields are a great feature). However, if I enter "New York" into the keyword search, the result is null.

This really limits the functionality of the keyword search. What I’d like to see is the values of the "clickable" field also show up in the keyword search results.

Does that make sense?

Hi,

Yes, I got your point.

When you click the ‘New York’ link in ‘Location’ field, it will show all items which have location of ‘New York’, but when you put in search keyword, it must filter all fields which have this keyword to show: item title, category title, extra fields, etc… it will take time to query and affect the performance. This feature is not available yet, could you use the filter "Location" – which is a dropdown list on the left side?

The point isn’t whether you could potentially find those results a different way, but more that the keyword search is woefully inadequate. For site visitors, it would not be obvious that keyword search worked for some fields but not others.
