November 2, 2011 at 8:56 pm #170319Dear JA,
It seems that you created the template overwrites for K2 by using the OLD (i.e. version 2.4.1) language strings for the component.
Basically said, with that, we are unable to use K2 in any other language except English. Please do your homework and update the template overwrite to USE THE LANGUAGE STRINGS FROM THE LATEST VERSION OF K2 – 2.5.1.Regards,

please don’t be rude.. there is more to consider then just one version. If k2 2.5.1 lang strings are NOT backwards compatible then that would create issues for others also. Not saying it shouldn’t be changed Im just saying……I’ve asked the dev’s to look into this.

I didn’t want to be rude, sorry if it sounds that way. However the changes are made due to the new requirements of Joomla! 1.7, Fotis (a.k.a. Joomlaworks) don’t change things like this if it is not required by some very good reason.n6rej Friendn6rej

November 26, 2011 at 10:45 pm #426616well, I understand that. I dont’ use K2 myself but I understand this is like 3rd new version this month? Hard enough keeping up with one extension I can’t imaging what the dev’s are doing when we have so many. Which one do they say “ok” K2 is “stable” now lets start modifying everything to work, then one they started doing 3 weeks ago? 3 months ago? 3 days ago? LOL… I’d hate to have to try to keep up with all that.

December 2, 2011 at 7:52 am #427544Hi
As far i can see right now
– JA Tiris supported for K2 2.5.x
– I have checked to use English & Russian language and it’s working fine.
May i have your issue detail for checking ?ps:// please check my video as sample: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/jatips-how-to-switch-k2-language-ja-tiris-j-1-7/
December 2, 2011 at 1:07 pm #427571Hi:
This solution in not working for some language strings even if I translated some languague the original en-GB.ini files.
This is very strange
I fund that there is a overwrite language folder in languages directory. Does this afect the k2 translations?
Thanks
José

yes, the lang override folder will effect ALL of J! it’s purpose is to allow you to customize language files without fear of them being over-ridden with upgrades.

if its not in the original en-gb.ini file then adding it to a new lang file will not help. It needs to be in the file for that extension. for example mod_jacomment.lang.ini for ja comment.jooservices Friendjooservices
