    Hi all,

I already use the german language file for back and frontend. When I choose in K2 category the basic layout sample – everything is in german too. When I choose as layout tiris or tiris blog layout everything is english….

What I have to do to change this also to german ?…

    Thanks for your comments….

    Hi mina,

Sorry, I’m a total K2 “Jungfrau” :-[ so maybe this doesn’t help but have you checked the language in K2 for that item?

What I mean is in K2 if you click on Tiris Blog, you go into Edit Category and there you pick language in the same way as a menu or article usw. No idea if this helps – just a thought off the top of my head knowing a little bit about multi-language sites.

    Bestens

i bi so doof! Sorry :-[

Do you mean the words used by K2, not your content?

That is to do with the language .ini files and Tiris comes with the English one only. joomlaroot/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_k2.ini

Either you can see if Joomlaworks have a German one or you can copy this file across to joomlaroot/languages/de-DE, rename it to de-DE.com-k2.ini and manually change it all (the right hand side only – after the = ) into German.

    THAT should help! Maybe!! 🙂

    EDIT:

And the language switch is at the bottom on this image

    it was my fault too…
thanks for your help swissa but I changed like you suggest the ini because I already installed a german language file for K2 and it runs with the basic layout in german only in tiris and tiris-blog there is english…. The language selection in the categorie was overlooked but now I already changed to german but it takes no effect…..

That is very strange and beyond my little brain. If you installed a language pack I don’t see why it does this as languages are supposed to be handled by the .ini files.

There are a lot of k2 ini files under en-GB – my Tiris has 7 .
Maybe is it worth checking to see if you have them all in de-DE but I bet that these you already have from the language pack. :((

    I would post too @ http://getk2.org/community/Offizielle-deutsche-Gemeinschaft

tml I couldn’t help more – I hate not to solve a problem so when you find the solution perhaps you could post it here please?
