I just installed JA Purity and became aware of a problem: JA Slideshow module doesn’t work with K2 categories. Is there any way to solve this?
Anyway, I tried JA Content slider to see if it could serve the same purpose. It reads K2 categories, but it’s not displaying the image I have attached to each item (via the built-in image upload function K2 items have). Any idea why this is happening?
Here’s two screenshots displaying the problem at hand.
Content slider with 3 items not displaying any image.
As you can see, the first item has an image attached.

October 28, 2010 at 2:05 am #360826now please check two things as following:
1) Cache function: please disable it via the Cache parameter
2) The module supports only the images linked within the article and stored on your own site.

November 1, 2010 at 2:24 pm #361291Hello,
Have you found any solution for this ?
As the content slider is compatible with K2, it should be able to fetch the K2 item’s main image.
I don’t insert images in K2 Items because, there’s allready an upload for main image, and another one for image gallery…There must be a way to hack/edit this module to “call” the item’s main image, I made some tries in helper.php, but can’t get it working… Any idea or hint ?
Hoping for answers,
Best regards
David aka ShapesNovember 1, 2010 at 4:59 pm #361303I`ve not tried fiddling around with the Content Slider code. I’m in the exact same situation as you are, I’m not a programmer and don’t have the knowledge to hack te module myself.
My hope is that Joomlart updates the content slider with support for the K2 main images.
Regards.

November 4, 2010 at 10:35 am #361645Hi tienhc,
Thanks for that answer, and for pushing your modules further with K2, as K2 is an awsome component for content construction !
Hope we’ll get this soon,
Best regards,

Our devs response back that this is the default behavior of Content slider and they dont have any plan to change to the way you have requested. I’m sorry for that. Could you please create K2 articles like normal Joomla articles? So that you can use Content slider without the need of modifying.
August 18, 2011 at 8:08 pm #406943Yes, the need for JA Content Slider to grab the K2 Item main image is needed. Can we please revisit this? It makes more sense. If it’s easier for the developers, can you make a content slider specific just to K2? It sounds like many of us need it just for K2 items – not necessarily Joomla articles.

Fix the mods or state MODS DO NOT WORK WITH k2 CONTENT on templates LIKE KRANOS
