July 10, 2011 at 5:51 pm #166144I all, i have one question and want to know:
I want to have 1 CMS (joomla), now i want build 1 forum, but i don’t know choose kunena or vBB!Joomla is hight CMS but slow forum, and vBB hight forum, but slow CMS!
Kunena: component of joomla, so i can re-use and include some element from joomla, module, com_sef (joomsef, sh404sef, acesef), sitemap, backup from akeeba, style CSS from jatypo and ja_template, main menu (mega menu) show any where, use google analytics module from joomla,…and include user
vBB: The biggest forum software and most popular forum from VN and World! It very powerful, flexible forum, with more feature, more mod to install,…=> It is big community! But…it not include with joomla! I can’t find mod, plugin…to bridge user! (About style and menu, i can try to do)!
I want use vBB for highest CMS and hightest Forum, but have problem about User, i know JoomlArt is using vBB for Forum, how to JoomlArt include user from Joomla and vBB ?
If i use vBB, should i put it in http://domain.com/forum like JoomlArt or http://forum.domain.com ?
I think like JoomlArt is better, include site rank and easy to manage, but how about sitemap when google view Joomla and vBB is 1 domain ? (Joomla 1 sitemap, vBB 1 sitemap, how to include it?)Can JoomlArt help me to have true choose ?
Thank you very much! :-*

Thanks Don Lee, i found solved user with Jfusion, now i am waiting for stable version :D, i will choose vBB like JoomlArt , custom html is easy but not dynamic, (maybe root menu level 1 only)!
I see theme of JoomlArt very good :),and JA use member.php file to control user!
I found some useful from JA! :-*TomC ModeratorTomC

July 13, 2011 at 4:52 pm #400990Ironically, I have been contemplating the same issues myself in relation to a project I am working on – i.e. which community message board to use. For myself, it’s between Vbulletin and phpBB (the later being FREE, of course).
Personally, I have never been impressed with Kunena – but that’s just me and my personal taste.

I think Kunena is useful for small community only! It seem work basic on Joomla! And it miss some feature! But it simply, and small package!

Well, I appreciate the offer . . . but lately I’ve been thinking I may just go with phpBB . . .It’s FREE (as are most of the themes available out there for it) . . . JFusion works with phpBB as well . . . and it has most of the features I would need/require for a decent and relatively dynamic community forum/message board.
