I have installed the Arabic language pack on the template but still have ?????? as the Arabic text. I did not follow on the previous post (ibrahimbdawy)what needed to be don. Is there a way for someone to explain what to do.

Hi,klmklm
It’s not related to Arabic Language Pack
This error occurs as a result the database tables for quick start is not Encoding supporting the Arabic language
open the database tables in Phpmyadmin (c-panel)
Then follow the steps photosI explained to you in Arabic if you want:)
February 24, 2010 at 1:33 pm #333724Hi,
I have done that but still no joy, by all means if you can send the explanation in Arabic would be great but the benefit of all you can leave it in English.
It is not working as I have followed your instructions what I’ve done looking at the previous post is went to Collation then Operations then changed it from latin1_swedish_ci to utf8_general_ci but this did not resolve the issue
Many thanks in advance. :-*

February 24, 2010 at 2:56 pm #333733yes this fixed it for me
Joomlart should award you many points!
And joomlart should have all their templates fixed to have their sample data all in unicode.
Thank you dearly IbrahimDawyAlhamdullilah

February 24, 2010 at 4:43 pm #333745The problem is that when they created the template they should have used Unicode for their database tables. Because they used Latin collation it gives us the burden of changing the tables one by one. I do hope Joomlart decide to announce that they will fix this issue and update their templates. seems a simple job to do now. If they fix it once then we won’t all have to fix it individually.
February 24, 2010 at 4:48 pm #333747Hi ibrahimbdawy
hope you had a good trip….
I will try this later on tonight and see what happened…
Many thanks for what you’ve done, you are fantastic. :-*
February 24, 2010 at 9:49 pm #333770You are a star ibrahimbdawy
I’ve seen other tables with the wrong collation, do I need to change them as well. It is working now, and I can see the Arabic text but seen the other tables and wondering if I should.
Many Thanks in advance and Salam to you ibrahimbdawy….
