Is there a limitation to the number of assignments in the “Language & Page Assignments”? I have about 26 rows in there. It seem to slow down bringing up the menu when I click on “Click To Add” and eventually crashed every browser I tried. I even tried to add them manually in the param.ini file because it seems that’s where they all went but again with no luck, whatever I add in the param.ini file doesn’t show up in the template settings page. I have about 20-30 more assignments I need to make. Your help is appreciated.

Hello,

Limitation’s are only based on your server’s ram and joomla it’self no other limitations exist, even though i haven’t tested personally this feature with more than 15 page assignments.

Is this on localhost or on a live server ?

I am having this issue as well, did you ever find the answer?
By the way, with 1.7 it was not an issue, it was only after an upgrade to 2.5 that this became a problem.
It appears to be the js with mootools and japageid.js that are causing the problem.

is there any hack so that I can do this manually?

You just have to do it manually by editing your param.ini file until it’s fixed, just follow the same convention

pages_profile=”{menu_id, ..}={profile name}n{menu_id, ..}={profile name}n…”

However, mine looks different, are you using Joomla 2.5?

this is my params.ini file:

I tried to edit this, and it did not work – the menu items did not appear.

Is this correct?

Looks about right, don’t forget to close with a double quote at the end and I think that they all need to be on 1 line so try that.

I don’t think you need to add manually in the param.ini file, Could you please pm me your admin account for taking a look at the problem ?

Can you please let me know if that is all that is changed when you manage the template? I don’t want to corrupt the database, so if I change the params.ini, I don’t want to cause other issues.

I will get that to you shortly, but it definitely happens after I add a certain number of assignments. I deleted everything and started over and the exact same thing happened.

i think that there are some other files also were changed as well, if you can pm me your admin account for taking a look I will detect the problem and fix it for you then.
