Software versions: WAMP 2.0 with Apache 2.2.11, PHP 5.2.9-2, and MySQL 5.1.33 running on Windows Vista Home Premium.
I have installed the JA Teline IV quickstart (for Joomla 1.6.3) after downloading the latest version (dated 06-03-2011) – without the sample data. The quickstart installation completes without any errors and I am able to remove the installation folder.
However, the following errors occur:
1. After removing the installation folder, going to the /administrator url gives “Use a valid username and password to gain access to the administrator backend.” error and does not even display the admin login page.
2. Similarly going to the site frontend gives a 404.Note:
1. I can successfully install and use the JA Teline IV (for Joomla 1.6.0) – i.e. the previous version of the same template as it existed on 2nd June 2011.
2. I am also able to install and use the new version of JA Teline IV dated 06-03-2011 (for Joomla 1.6.3) if I install the sample data.himangi Friendhimangi

June 13, 2011 at 11:42 am #396090Hi Shailesh,
The error you are referring to is appearing if you have used quickstart and not installed the sample data. If you install the sample data in quickstart installation process then it works normally.
If you dont want to use the sample data, you can easily configure the template and extensions used in the JA Teline IV demo using the userguide and without using the quickstart…
June 14, 2011 at 10:23 am #396265Hi Himangi,
Your response states “If you dont want to use the sample data, you can easily configure the template and extensions used in the JA Teline IV demo using the userguide and without using the quickstart… “. I
I am not sure you have understood my problem! I am very disappointed with the lack of timely support – it took Joomlart 8 days to respond to this issue. And then, you are stating the obvious – which has been called out as an issue in my ticket itself!
The fact that the template install doesn’t work at all (both the site and admin) if you install it WITHOUT the sample data is precisely my problem. Shouldn’t the template work fine if the user during installation opts not to install the sample data?
Do you expect all your users to install the sample data and delete it (alongwith all the module config etc)? I already have my data. I don’t want the sample data provided with the Teline IV quickstart – i.e. I want to start with just the Teline IV template without any sample data.
Please respond – hopefully more quickly this time.
Thanks,
ShaileshJune 14, 2011 at 11:30 am #396280One other thing…
The reason I need to install the Teline IV template (on Joomla 1.6) – WITHOUT the sample data is because I need to migrate my site/content from the existing live site that uses Teline III (on Joomla 1.5). During the migration of the data from the live site, I need to ensure that the categories and articles retain their IDs – so that the external SEF urls don’t break and I don’t lose my google ranking.
Hope that helps you understand why I need to be able to install Teline IV (on Joomla 1.6) – without the sample data that comes with the template.
Please note that this issue is extremely critical for my development team – its a show stopper now.

June 17, 2011 at 8:59 am #396881You guys must be joking! This is truly a pathectic level of support.
Arvind,
Did you even try to install the new Teline IV quickstart for Joomla 1.6 (dated 14th June 2011) – before responding to this ticket?
When you go through with the new quickstart install (on localhost) and DO NOT install the sample data – all you get is a Beez template for the frontend site. i.e. Teline IV template is not even installed!
Please recheck the quickstart that has been uploaded to the Downloads section of JATC.:((

June 21, 2011 at 8:02 am #397577Hi Shailesh,
It doesnot work that ways. FIrst of all if you want a Joomla 1.6.3 installation only without any sample data. then install the Joomla 1.6.3 distribution from joomla.org. Using Teline IV quickstart and not installing sample data will give you nothing.
In your case Teline IV will not show up either in the frontend or backend until installed, although the folder is present. This is how Joomla 1.6 is working, gone are the days of Joomla 1.5 where you could just push the template folder under the joomla_root/templates/ folder and it would show up in the list of templates.
So, nothing is wrong with our package.
You install quickstart with demo content, if you dont want to.. then use Joomla 1.6.x package to get fresh joomla installation. and then follow this guide to get your teline IV set up

Migrate your data (articles / database) to J 1.6.
Install quickstart for reference on localhost.
install template and configure.
install extensions one by one and configure them by checking the userguide for recommended settings.Remember, if you do not follow the userguide to get the recommended settings, then it would be very difficult to get the demo site like display. The extensions used in Teline are also used in other templates and so the demo site settings are the best settings. Use the same and once done, then try to tweak.
Not necessary that all the functions of a module are going to work for JA teline IV, not all the functions can be optimized to work for each template.
I hope i have made my point clear.
