My pet hate is images without a little border.
Great use of the Teline 2 template 😉

September 17, 2008 at 6:36 am #270973This is a very nice site. Good colors and great content.
I would be very interested in learning about some of the mods that you are using and the custom changes. I am looking to use this template for a news portal of a different topic.
In particular, I like:
- Rating System
- Ratings in the left column
- Share This drop down menu
- Tags in a drop down menu
- Hot Keywords
September 20, 2008 at 12:53 pm #271515Nicely done. I’m impressed that you were able to use the entire page. I also like the way you have the articles arranged in different modules. I’m trying to get rid of a gaping hole on my front page where I wanted to put a table of contents. I also can’t seem to get my articles to look good unless they are stretched across the page. http://www.SustainableSuccessAlert.com.

September 21, 2008 at 8:42 am #271573Thanks Artaddicted,
Briefly the mods I’m using are:
– Jreviews (this is for the ratings on particular articles and the mod on the left which lists top reviewed articles).
– Alphatools module for the “Share this”, “export to PDF, “Tags”, etc.
– Diamond tabs for the green tabs
– Zaragoza Clouds module for the Hot keywordsSend me an email or post if you need any other information about the modifications made. All these modules can be found at http://www.joomla.org under extensions. Jreviews does cost money though! There were a lot of modifications made to the standard modules/ template, except for Alphatools.
Cheers
John

September 21, 2008 at 8:47 am #271574Thanks questbg,
I think your posts answered a lot of questions I had when building the site! It’s amazing how difficult it is to find an appropriate colour for your content. Went through every colour in the rainbow before deciding on red…

September 26, 2008 at 5:37 pm #272495Hi John,
Great site and very interesting topic – one of my favorites. Good color choice.
Also – I sent you an email regarding my inability to apply a different color to my Teline II template just as you did. I would very much appreciate if you can share with me how you did it.
Also, for some strange reason – whenever I change the template.css it assumes the “unwriteable” status and I can’t figure out why – would you know? Thanks so very much for any assistance you can provide. Michael.

September 27, 2008 at 2:22 am #272604There’s a file called theme.css in the color folder which is blank (its in your Ja teline 2 template folder). If you copy the contents of one of the color css files into this file it will become your default color. However, if you’ve set colors for various sections in Ja News 1.3.1 you’ll have to change the color css files you’re using separately. Not sure about the writable/unwritable bit. If you’re using something like cpanel you should be able to change the read/write settings for each file on your server that way.
Hope some of this helps!
John

September 27, 2008 at 2:25 am #272605Hi Komang,
When you said “I seen your image out of right column ( image with text fanstory.com)” were you referring to the lack of pace between the images and text on the front page of my site http://www.sffmedia.com ? If you know how to fix that, would love to hear how!
Cheers,
John
