Hi All
I’m working with the JA Edenite template and customising it for my company. I’ve a couple of questions I someone could point me in the right direction?
1) I was wondering how can I create the “Testimonials” module that is on the demo so that it has the title box is in the colour of the template and not in the grey, and how / where do I create the text and put it in the quotation marks?
2) Is it possible increase the area that the logo is situated in so that my logo looks much bigger?
3) On all the pages I get the IE error symbol which details the following when I view the error: Line: 68
Char: 2
Error: ‘null’ is null or not an object
Code: 0
URL: http://www.mydomain/index.php?4) Is it possible so that the name of the website stays the same when you click each page, rather than changing to the pages name? e.g. MY Website | Why Us rather than “Why Us”?
Sorry to be a pain – I’ve searched the forum and couldn’t see how to do the above.
Any help would be greatfully accepted.
Many thanks in advance.

September 26, 2008 at 5:13 pm #272491Question 1: There is not really a “template” mod for that area. You have to set up a custom HTML mod and fill in the area with your details. Here’s a screenshot of the template’s mod area so you can see it better. Click here for a screenshot
The quotation marks are your templates “Typography” which is all done in the HTML source while typing in the editor. Here is your templates typography instructions: (Click on the typography tab at the top) http://www.joomlart.com/templates_demo.php?template=ja_edenite
Question #2 – As far as the logo, you are looking for the logo image, in your template.css files. In order to add space you will have to customize the CSS which deals with the height and width around your logo. Sometimes you will also have other height and width numbers to adjust as well.
3) On all the pages I get the IE error symbol which details the following when I view the error: Line: 68
Char: 2
Error: ‘null’ is null or not an object
Code: 0
URL: http://www.mydomain/index.php?Sorry, can’t help you there especially without a live site address to look at.
As far as question #4, are you giving each of your menus a title? For instance, click in your menu manager on any of the menus you have listed. Look at the right column and find the tab that says “System Parameters.” You have to specify something under “Title” or the site will automatically name it for you … which is generally a very LONG name.

you need to put something in the positions
user 1,2 ,5,6,7,8even if all you do is create a custom html mod and enter a blank space, it will fix it

September 26, 2008 at 10:32 pm #272578MJ – thanks for your reply to Question 3 – it turned out that I had to populate the USER 1 field and have it enabled for the error to go away.
JWELLMAN – thanks for your answer to Question 1 – I’m still trying the other suggestions that you made and will update you with how I got on – but thanks so much for your help so far!

September 27, 2008 at 7:28 pm #272738Hi Jess
Thank you so much for your help – I followed many of the instructions you provided and I’ve achieved just what I needed, with the exception of how to the Testimonials Header background is blue whereas all the other modules are grey?
Any help would be dearly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

September 27, 2008 at 7:44 pm #272744Glad I could help. I hope I’m not telling you the long way around. Those graphics might be changed in the mod suffix area… I’m not sure. But I do know you can reach the graphics by going back to your CSS codes again. Look for grad3.gif which is blue and grad2.gif which is gray. Simply change the number for that module to grad3.gif and it should replace the gray to blue.
September 27, 2008 at 8:13 pm #272748Jess – thanks, I want to replicate whats on the demo site, so that all the modules are still grey but the Testimonial module is Blue?
Not sure if thats what you explained above?
October 11, 2008 at 10:05 pm #274807navigate to
extensions >> module manager >>
choose your module (probably named testimonials)
in the parameters, find “module class suffix”
type this: _hilite
apply or save, refresh ur page. hope that does it.By the way, I am just a user and saw your question while looking for an answer to my own issue, so I thought I would take a stab at helping.
