Unpublish “blog” module and scroll down and fix the corrupt database calls that show under footer areas (see attached)

Can you create an admin user so it’s possible to check in the backend of your site?
And send that in a PM?

If you’re trying to get rid of the content on the home page, so it looks like the demo, you need to go to Menu>mainmenu. Click Home. On the right, change these settings as follows:

    # Leading 0
    # Intro 0
    Columns 1
    # Links 0

Thanks, that nearly sorted itbut I still had pagination showing at the top, so i switched pagination to hide and everything went back to normal.

Many thanks to you and shannon

one remaining question, where does the headline module grab the headlines from as it seems to be grabbing things a lot older than newer items?

While in your Joomla administration select the menu Content and then select All Content Items. The Headline items will be the ones that are published to the Frontpage and you will be able to see the Section and Category that those are being populated from in the columns to the right.
