In the joomla backend, go to module manager, say if you want user menu, other menu, main menu etc on one side – left or right, select that individually in ‘position’ for each of those module.

    Does that help you?

Actually i put it all according to the user menu, just wonder the middle column (the news part) which is not a module, how can i make it to 1 colume instead of 2 columes as you can see the second row of the article is on the right covered by the right module.
    thanks

If I understand what you want to do, this is how you do it:

In joomla back end, on the menus tab, click main menu.
    Then click on home.
On the right side, you will see Parameters (Basic).
There is a field for columns.
    Change that to 1.

Now check your front page. If that is how you want it then do the same for all of your pages.

    Thanks,
    Autumn
