February 27, 2012 at 10:30 am #174342Hi,
I am having a problem with this template. I upgraded from J1.7 applied the JA Portfolio template and applied.
I noticed that the left menu and right menu were not in the correct alignment.
After much messing around, I figured that perhaps the database structure wasn’t compatible or something.
So I did a fresh install and installed sample data. When I remove the sample data in insert my own. The left menu moves down below the featured articles text, and then right module goes underneath that.
Can anybody offer any advice?

February 27, 2012 at 12:06 pm #440271Hi
The wrong layout that you see on your site is due that your site is off-line and you have deleted all contents and categories so you can see all trashed articles as admin logged
I have created a new category ” Test” and published a featured article in that category try to set your site as on line and you will see the correct layout
Regards

February 27, 2012 at 12:18 pm #440273Thanks for clearing that up.
However, I was original brought to this problem when I tried to use a backup of my full site with the template.
I have error reporting set as max an I get the following error:
Notice: Undefined property: ContentViewFeatured::$total in /usr/local/pem/vhosts/162151/webspace/httpdocs/medicore.ie/templates/ja_portfolio/html/com_content/featured/default.php on line 69 Notice: Undefined variable: i in /usr/local/pem/vhosts/162151/webspace/httpdocs/medicore.ie/templates/ja_portfolio/html/com_content/featured/default.php on line 69
Along with the wrong layout. I have all the proper categories etc. Articles are not in trash.

February 27, 2012 at 12:47 pm #440284Not yet. Have a look at the site again. I have changed the database tables to use the original. I didn’t want to use the ones with sample data.
When I changed it the original info is displayed by the same problem returns. I also get the following error:
Notice: Undefined property: ContentViewFeatured::$total in /usr/local/pem/vhosts/162151/webspace/httpdocs/medicore.ie/templates/ja_portfolio/html/com_content/featured/default.php on line 69 Notice: Undefined variable: i in /usr/local/pem/vhosts/162151/webspace/httpdocs/medicore.ie/templates/ja_portfolio/html/com_content/featured/default.php on line 69
All articles are published and in categories.
I do not understand…
I have made superuser account with same username and password.
Thanks!

February 27, 2012 at 1:27 pm #440297I can see many other db errors on your site as some components are not working with wrong tables structures
So i think your import was not correctly made and the wrong layout is due to an old error and not to the actual configuration of the template.

February 27, 2012 at 1:32 pm #440298Ok. So should I start with a clean install and just copy the article text over to the new site?

February 27, 2012 at 1:43 pm #440301Yes, but that replicates the errors. So now I think I will have to copy and paste from the front end articles.

February 27, 2012 at 2:02 pm #440305I think it’s the best solution so you can solve all other errors
You cannot be sure that all works fine with a wrong table import, also because some errors might be not visible now but for the future ….
