I want to create a left + main layout theme. In the default themes there is only a main + left.

Hi,
“left + main” layout means the layout shows left & main position, also the right position is not loaded. So it is same with “main + left”.

That does not position the left position on the left side of main though. I need the left position on the left and main on the right. I would also like left+main+right in that order. How can I accomplish this?

Hi,
Just go to manage the template, select Layout tab, clone main + left and name it left + main. Then click edit button for the new layout, find this:
<block name=”right1″>left</block>
Replace:
<block name=”left1″>left</block>
