Hi again,
I need to do some heavy modifications to the template styling : what is the preferred way to go ?Given that I already have some experience with LESS and Bootstrap, I was inclined to directly edit the .less files and compile them myself (I use CodeKit) : but, even though Theme Magic currently doesn’t work on my site, I wouldn’t mind using some of it functionalities later (mostly position editing) and am afraid to bypass it completely.
So, how could I best preserve efficiency (=being able to deliver a styled website ASAP) and compatibility with later (or simply working) versions of Theme Magic ?
Thanks !
(on a related note, I second the proposition seen I-don’t-remember-where on this site : JoomlArt needs to allow the “LESS” string to become a tag and a searchable term… It is not an overly common word anymore.)

February 12, 2013 at 11:40 am #483187In T3V3 there is the custom.css file where you can add all of your custom css and I would recommend using that to prevent all your changes being lost if you update your template. For addition of blocks etc please see the guides on the T3V3 site – http://t3-framework.org/

February 13, 2013 at 7:51 am #483278Hi anikrig,
The less files you should work with when style your template is in folder: templatest3_blankless. If you want to customize without changing less files, you can use file: custom.css in folder: templatest3_blankcss. The custom.css file is not overridden when you comile LESS to CSS.
If you want it to work in Thememagic, make sure you do it correctly. Please check our instruction below for customizing with thememagic.

February 15, 2013 at 6:32 am #483518Hi,
As I’ve said in a precedent post, Theme Magic doesn’t work for me : it fails to create any directories when, for example, I try to clone the default Template. I am working with the Quick Start template which probably is a bit bugged, since it also fails at checking joomla or components updates, but it’s fine : it is stable enough for me to work on the design, I’ll do a proper install when I’ll upload my work on an external server.
Thanks for your help anyway, for now I have started putting my customization in ja_mero/less/custom.less and it seems OK.
